Rinseless Washes - 2022

You think so? I'm not sure if the AutoZone/Advance/Target/WalMart crowd is ever going to embrace rinseless washing.

Maybe. Does Target even have any detailing products anymore? I gave up even looking when I'm in there because the pickings were so slim.
Im not sure they will either, maybe some. I know people personally that when they wash they like suds, in their mind it means safe and clean. So the rinseless way goes against that train of thought.

Also i think overall people shop there because they dont know any better, or where to get those better products, or even which ones are better than the other. I make that comment because i used to be one of those people. I liked to have a clean vehicle but just didnt know of the vast array of brands and products out there behond the stores i shopped at. I had always wished there was a brick and mortar detailing store near i could walk into and shop. Reading labels and comparing products in person is a much better shopping experience than trying to do that online.

I think a detailing store would get alot of foot traffic but i dont know how many would actually buy and be repeat customers if you didnt run the same prices as online stores. I could be wrong..who knows. You woukd need someone behind the counter that has knowledge so they can point customers in the right direction

Dont know about target, i quit spending my banknotes there. I try to browse through the autoparts store and wally world to take note if they ever start to sell any other brands.

This is where a store like The Bays comes into the picture. Sure, the location I go to has a smaller store front but there's people there who know the products and can answer questions, heck you can even pull your car in and try them on the spot (sonetimes) and your first hour is free even, a good way to "open the gate" so to speak

I wrote Target off 110% a year or so back and haven't shopped there since

Between walking into Walmart, Autozone, O'Reilly's, NAPA, and Carquest I could get a large majority of the gear to be a fairly self sufficient DIY detailier

But what I haven't found locally is any form of Rinseless wash

I wonder if those stores sell any RW in the real world

Cleaned out/reorganized the "Silence of the Lambs" room and had to snap a pic of this gem, fits this thread to a T

Obviously I never followed the 1 bucket method, too bad there wasn't a better push/education of RW's back then, more regular people could be keeling their cars cleaner

I'm surprised you didn't post a pic of a QEW bottle with Scottwax holding it lol

Most people have no idea rinseless wash exists. In addition the percentage of people that regularly wash their own vehicles is pretty small. Maybe in summer they will do it once or twice.
I live in a development with about 75 houses. As far as I know I am the only one washing their vehicles in Fall, Winter and Spring with very few doing it in Summer.

I think the reason, and the reason that TW rinseless failed is this:

the usual autoparts customer has no idea, they probably think the idea sounds like a scam

That being said...

We have a store here in NJ, that Bill D used to go to when he lived up here, but they also sell 55 gal drums to dealers and body shops, so not dedicated to us more "boutique" customers. However, this IS a detailing store not that far from me that opened during the pandemic, I never went there. Holy cow, I just looked and they moved, they have rental bays and personalized training like "The Bays", as well as the detail products we would expect. I'll have to stop in there and look around some time.

We're the 1% of car owners...maybe the 1/10%

When Griot's launched their brilliant finish rinseless wash my brother gifted me some of that stuff. I think he got it from either O'Reilly's or AutoZone

Since we're way off topic anyway--The Clean Garage has a retail store, Mister Snoop goes there.
Yes they do, I'd like to visit that store, maybe meet a couple forum members there, would be well with the trip, put a face with a name

It will be interesting to see if the new Griot's RW version is available at any of the walk in locations around here

I honestly don't know if the old version was offered or not simply because it wasn't on my radar

Right now, Autozone only lists chemical guys RW on their site but it's not in stock within 150 miles of here. Advance Auto also has DG RW on their site but not available within 50 miles. I thought Autozone had the Griot's at some point but I could wrong on that.

They do. I won't be going there until winter is over tho. No saturday hours during the winter. Not sure how much of a destination it is but I could have just become used to having it nearby.

Might be hard to find Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash since it was phased out

Who as tried Nemsis anyhow? I still like Eddie personally. i started watching him before he had 200 subs.

The guy is just trying to build business for himself to me. I find him leaps and bounds more relatable/likeable than Yvan or Pan. He made a mistake affiliating with Pan.

Yeah I still F’ with Eddie two and maybe like you its because I started watching early. I like his corniness, keeps me entertained.

I do feel he hyped Hero because he was an early beta tester with his hands deep in Hero. when someone invites you in and makes you feel important that builds love.

Take him with a grain of salt as all new rinseless are gonna be great seems like. There’s really no a lot of betters… just favorites.
