Rinseless Washes - 2022

I watched a review of the Griot's and apparently one criticism is it doesn't drop dirt from the sponge well.

This dude reminds me of Jonah Hill.

Just saw that. Because it’s griots I’m going to try but didn’t like that. His sponge I really couldnt tell but when he dunk the one he used on griots into the ADS

No grit guard and 1 bucket

I think he was going two bucket originally. You can see a scrub wall in what was the rinse bucket to begin.

As for not using it, Online testing seems to have gone to swishing media around in rinseless to see if will remove dirt w/o agitation.

I don't get it because he had a bucket right next to it that seems to have the Dirt Dropper with the Scrub Wall. (EDIT: I see he used that later in the video for the "control" wash)

So back to the product...it's blue, it's polymer, it smells like berries, it stains the media....looks to me like Turtle Wax...er, I mean ONR. They even threw in the "use it to soften your water for conventional wash"...what/who else has made that claim besides ONR/OPT?

Yeah it’s a pure polymer like ONR. I really don’t care if it stains my media if I believe dirt is coming off of it.

I got the Griot's Garage one because I got a gift certificate for them from my girlfriend, along with a couple other items, one being a free bottle of ceramic glass cleaner

I’m actually loving the glass cleaner. I use after washing though to remove streaks. Haven’t tried on truly dirty glass

Got it and I have a video review of it on Saturday if anyone is curious about it.

I just watched your video on this and thank you first of all. After doing the hood and the d/s rear door you commented on the bucket solution getting dirty. Now I'm certainly not calling you out as your not the only one who does this but 2 buckets is the better move here. Yes they say the dirt goes to the bottom and yes, your using a grit guard but after 2 sections and your already noticing it

Imagine if I hadn't used 2 buckets here:

Before and after, on my g/f's old Cruze

First- thanks for watching!

Most Rinseless wash manufacturers don’t suggest two bucket and I don’t seem to mar or scratch my paint when I use just one.
That being said, I have been known to use 2 buckets for a Rinseless if a car has a higher level of dirtiness. I might should have used 2 buckets with getting salt off, but it didn’t seem to damage anything.

Thanks for your input. I read all your posts here.

Well thank YOU

I'm glad you've had no issues with one bucket RW's, I just wanna be EXTRA safe! The only time I use 1 bucket is when I use the GD method

Btw, I'll put you on the spot, what's your top 3 RW's right now

My top 3 if I were to pick-

Clean by Pan- easiest to use.
ADS Hero- nice balance of cleaning and gloss.
DIY Detail- cleans nice and foams if you want it.

I’ve not tried a rinseless that I have thought was bad. They all work.
Picking winners for me is like watching Olympic judging.
9.5, 9.2, 9.4.

Yeah I liked Hero for my needs and your right about all the RW's working. That said I'd narrow my choices down to 2, one for pure cleaning and one for cleaning/gloss:

1. Feynlab RW v3...best pure cleaning RW I've ever used and it's not even close! That picture I posted earlier, the "before & after" one, was using Feynlab RW v3. Her car didn't have caked on dirt and I couldn't believe HOW MUCH it dug out of her paint

2. Gyeon Q2 ECO wash RW...I'm admitting I'm a Gyeon fanboy upfront, you may not know that but for me there's a noticeable difference in gloss & slickness, plus it flashes very well in cooler temps

I haven't used my new Griot's Garage RW yet and would like to try Koch Chemie Rww too. I should also mention Labocosmetica Idrosave, it's RIGHT THERE with Gyeon Q2 ECO wash RW, if I posted this tomorrow and/or after using it recently, it could've been there in place of Gyeon

By the way, which bucket in your photos is the rinse bucket?
The rinse bucket is the one closest to the wheels. So here's the break down of what's in that/this pic:

-1.5 oz of Feynlab RW v3 mixed in w/ 3.5 gallons to make the wash solution (tap water)

-3.5 gallons of tap water for the rinse bucket

-Designated RW sponge, forgot the brand, it was given to me but I think it's Adam's but I also have a Legacy sponge as well

-Grit Guard (newer, better designed version) in each bucket

-Each section is pre-treated and the after pic was BEFORE cleaning her tires & wheels with the left over solution

Thank you for the info. Do you have a detailed post on your two bucket rinseless wash method? I'm wondering how you use the rinse bucket. Are you just dunking the sponge and then squeezing it dry?

Well here you go:

-I dunk my IK sprayer into the solution bucket, pump it up and do a section at a time.

-Once done pre-treating I take my wash media, the RW sponge and dunk it in the solution, wring out a bit and try and keep it between dry & dripping wet.

-After cleaning a section I put the sponge in the rinse bucket, push it down into the grit guard and scrape it up, down and sideways on the grit guard to ensure the dirt has been released. Finally, once out of the rinse bucket, I squeeze it as much as I can and then and ONLY THEN, it goes into the solution bucket while I dry the cleaned panel...repeat until the car is clean

If you have any old ONR try it in the rinse bucket to pull all the dirt to the bottom…

Thanks for posting the Griots video. For testing RW and for me personally I just like them better….. try some smaller drying towels. A 16x16 griots PFM will easily dry a hood and a door. I use 2-3 to dry my whole car.

Totally agree on the 16x16 PFM’s. Purchased them when they first came out and haven’t used anything else.
