Road film left after using ONR

I would suggest having N914 on hand, this way when you think the car needs a stronger wash it's up to the task. I would double the amount you pour into the bucket, wash the car and stand back and admire the looks!

Hi Mike - will claying help as well? I do not have a cleaner wax but i have clay :)

Mike has said in I believe that post or others on a similar subject that clay will only remove topical contaminants. To remove sub-surface contaminants AND road grime, you have to use a paint prep, cleaner, cleaner/wax, polish, AIO, or compound.

Hmm.. this reply of mine gave me an error. I did not know it was still posted. And yes, i was late in reading that about claying :) thanks for responding!

To address the original question:

Regardless of what Optimum says, ONR is not the best cleaner for a car wash. Just use ONR with one of their sponges for a few washes and you will begin to see a road film build up in the sponges. Now, take the same sponge and vehicle and wash with a product like P21s Total Auto Wash at say 1:30 dilution. Notice how clean the sponge is ? (And the vehicle too).

I use ONR. I also use TAW in various ways to compliment it. The more road film you keep off a vehicle, the longer you can go between chemical cleaning the paint.

Is TAW more of an APC or a waterless wash?

I would classify it as more of a car wash (It has to be rinsed) than an APC - stronger than most car washes; but safer (Not as harsh) than APC's. But it can be used both ways.

Good stuff. I wouldn't be without it.
