howzabout putting a general location in your profiles. When folks are crabbing or bragging about their weather etc it's kinda convenient to look under an avatar and see where someone's from.

I think you can set up a "map" in google maps where people can sign in with their ZIP code and forum name, making it really easy to keep track of locations...

Might be worth looking into.
