I've been driving vehicles with manual transmissions exclusively for over 8 years now. Every time I drive an automatic I can't help but feel like I'm a passenger.
Yeah yeah yeah, there's the PDK from Porsche and the DSG from VW, but if it doesn't have 3 pedals I don't want to hear about it.
I'm curious which AGO members drive a manual every day. I guess a garage queen counts too.![]()
Manual AND RWD for the win :righton:
I learned to drive overseas where everyone drives a manual. AT is for rich people there, haha!
And after returning stateside I bought a manual since I feel you get much better control. Then I had a girl ride in my car once and she told me "your driving is making me horny" and I've never thought of driving anything else since!
Doesn't get any better than that!
Turbo, Manual and AWD for the triple crown. (If only I had an S4 so I could have that sweet supercharged sport-diff action)
The B8 S4 engine is quite special. I drove several a couple years ago and fell in love. Had life events not prevented me from pulling the trigger, I'd be behind the wheel of a B8.5 S4 today.
As much as I like the turbo engine in my GTI, I have to admit my "triple crown" would be RWD, manual, and either a N/A inline 6 or a V8. There is something about an engine that pulls steadily from low RPM clear to red line with no surges or drops/plateau's.
