Hello to everyone! Ok, so heres the deal. I've been doing detailng for over 10 years. I have the Dewalt 849, Flex 3401 & PE 14. This is on a 2000 Ford F-150. Its my work/toy truck which has been used and abused. Its been driven through the desert and the paint has been through a lot. Now the paint is thin and has lots of scratches. Im not worried about that. I was polishing, after claying of course, with the Flex 3401 with an orange pad from Chemical Guys. It was the HEX Logic pad seris. I was using Automagic BC-2 and CG opti polish 2.0. Different pad for each product. Both pads were primed as per Mr Philps instructions. After doing a pass with moderate pressure and wiping with a clean microfiber cloth I found that I had round scratches and the paint had pitted in spots. The round scratches are aprrox 1 1/2 in diameter and down to bare metal. The other pitted spots are random and throughout the area that was buffed. Any ideas what caused this? I've used a rotory for years and have never had this problem. I dont want to have this happen to any other cars. Thanks for any help!
