rupes pads are breaking down

I just had a new 4" green Rupes pad fail on the 1st use, 3rd section. Rather disappointing. Never used the blue, but the yellow & white are fine. Certainly hope it's from a bad batch, as my mini Rupes is an invaluable tool. Speed 5 with light to moderate pressure & Menzerna 400 heavy cut

Theres a known issue with FG400 and Rupes pads as Dylan mentioned in another thread.

Thanks for the heads up Zubair, I'll try to find it. Meanwhile, Lake Country 3" yellow cutting pad to the rescue.

I have found the yellow pad to be very durabale.

The yellow rupes pad is one of my favorite pads out.

Its kind of a hybrid cutting/polishing pad i love it.

Rupes Yellow pad and its accompanying Keramik polish is a gem and a must have in any detailers arsenal.

Rupes v2 pads or mark 2 pads are needed all my green ones have made history

I've had green ones slowly shred using M151, speed 3. I get about 2 vehicles out of a set of green pads.

While the Rupes yellow pad is easily one of the best out there, the blue and green suck. The white pad is durable, but doesn't finish well consistently. The UHS pad is good at first, but gets too soft as you use it. The MF suck too. I think the Rupes polishes lag behind the best in the industry.

Do they RUPES polishers suck? NO way. They're the best!

Are the Rupes polishers the best I have version 1 of the 15 and 21 and o look now they have mk 2
Yea I am pissed....

These are some bold statements. What do you consider the "best" polishes in the industry?

These are some bold statements.
Why are they bold statements? Just because I didn't say a Rupes product isn't the best thing since sliced bread? The polishes do not finish well, IME.

You sure didn't point out that I said the Rupes yellow pad and polishers are fantastic.

interesting, glad to hear your honest feedback...

Your feedback is welcomed. Don't read too much into it. You just said they straight out sucked and that is what I meant about a bold statement. It's good that you like the yellow pad.

You still didn't answer what you consider the "best" polishes in the industry?

Gotcha. I apologize if I came off like a jerk.

I'd reach for Meguiars, Griot's BOSS, Scholl, Shine Supply, Menzerna, and HD polishes before Rupes.

UHS is extremely good. Water based, it is a pad saver. I use it with all Rupes pads, not only with the grey ones.

My humble opinion, of course.

When I did the washer mod, I didn't like the Rupes polishes either, well, the Blue one anyways. Megs M100, and Menzerna FG400 got the nod with the mod.

Since I took the washer out, replaced the worn shroud, and have focused on using the system as they designed it, I absolutely love their compounds / polishes, and pads. At least the yellow and blue foam and microfiber, and white foam.

With the mod, I got tons of dust, especially with the blue Zephir. I don't remember them finishing badly though. The yellow Keramik always reminded me of Menzerna SF4000 in it's cut and finish. I'll have to try it with my normal blue b&s, and LC h20 tangerine polishing pads on the o'l PC one of these days.

Interesting about the washer mod.

I found the Rupes polishes didn't finish well on soft black paint. I feel the MF pads do not contour very well and have had some delaminate. The blue foam slings polish all over the place. The blue and green pads shred the more you use them. Suck may have been a bit too harsh, but I find other pads and polishes to work better, without a doubt.

I think Rupes might be having MKII pads and polishes released as they constantly innovating and improving. Hopefully same colour scheme to avoid confusion.

With Jason Rose now on board, I think we'll see much improved Rupes polishes in the near future.

You gotta be honest about your experiences man. Your form of expression is yours too, so no worries.

Luckily, so far so good here. I've had some wear on my blue foam pads, but nothing more than I'm used to.

I agree that their MF pads don't really contour well, and that's why I got the mini.
