Rupes Question

Tried to PM boss, but your inbox is full. I'm always willing to help out a fellow detailer. Any other NOVA members are welcome to come play with this machine as well.

My bad, pm box cleared out!

Pick my Rupes up at Detail Fest and knocked out two cars last Sunday using a 21 . For the owners of the 21 try 205 and a Meg's micro fiber pad this comes from a recommendation from my buddy Robert who owns impressions detail . What a winning combo

Robert sent me a couple of pictures of his recent work using the Rupes and the results looked phenomenal. I think Robert told me he picked up a Rupes Kit after testing it out here last week when we did the extreme makeover on the 1987 Monte Carlo...

And of course, the results were nothing short of amazing...

Most of the comments I heard that night was how smooth and vibration free the Rupes polishers are...

We'll be using Rupes Polishers at both of my next Detailing Boot Camp Classes. At my classes you get a chance to use all the cool tools, kind of a try before you buy opportunity...

I need a few more jobs and then I think im going to pull the trigger on the 21. Good info all!

Mike you are correct Robert did pick up the kit . It looks we're goofing off but we're doing serious product testing .

I call it extreme testing with a flair for fun!
Rupes make my jobs quicker, quicker makes me more money, more money makes me happy!
Awesome machine no matter how you use it!

The 5" backing plate states that its not compatible with the 21? So confused!

I have never used a polisherand I picked up a Rupes polisher as I did my homework and seems to be the best choice (Even for a noob like me) . I own three cars, a 2006 Murano (silver), 2008 Infinti G35 (Slate), and a 1970 Nova (Metallic Blue). The Murano and Infinti are in decent shape. They are daily drivers and the nova is in show condition. I wanted to try and get the best bang for the buck I want to do a one-step polish/compound and then a wax. What do you guys think about going with Menzerna Power Finish PO 203 to cut and Pinnacle Liquid Souveran to Wax ? Also, I was going to go with Rupes 6 inch yellow or green for polish and white for wax.

It appears you got the Rupes21..did you get the 5" backing plate?
BTW welcome to AG.

The Rupes pads are pretty good. They tend to compress fairly easy while polishing, especially the green one. The 5" LC hybrid pads are bad a*s!! The are very dense. Since they don't compress easily, more of the machines power is put to the paint.

more good info, I plan on using the Megs MF pads for mine. Standard foamy for polishing and wax/sealant application

Surprisingly, the rupes pads are all great especially the yellow and white pads. I haven't had too much experience with the green and blue pads, but they seem good so far. I love the new buff and shine mf pads. They seem better built than than the megs pads, but we'll see after several machine washings.
