A couple of weeks ago, one of my neighbors approached me while i was polishing my car (yeah the pics on my "review of various products"). He asked "what do you put on your paint? It's looks so shiny and wet?" Then, he went on how he had his brand new truck detailed and "paint protected" at a large volume detailer here in my country. And he also mentioned that he was instructed by the detailer NEVER to use car shampoo EVERYTIME he washes the truck for a YEAR. Apparently he was also told that the "paint protection" will last a year without proper maintenance.
So i sort of shared what i know, but didn't want to bash on the detailer (that's why i'm not mentioning the company's name-i'm sure some Filipinos are bound to read this eventually). I told him it's okay to wash it with shampoo, since the shampoo will help lubricate the paint while washing it. Well, to cut the story short, his brand new black truck is in swirl country and he was totally mislead...and i'm pretty sure it was on purpose. He was charged a hefty amount too, about 10x the prevailing rate of a full correction. :nomore:
I'm not ranting, just wanted to share, because until now, it's still in my head, and i can't stop thinking about it.
