Was out at a restaurant and saw one of these parked in the lot:

Sorry I didn't get an actual pic...and the one I saw had a Landau roof. Seemed to be cherry or restored. I guess you can't read the side--it's a '72 Indy Pace Car Replica, Hurst/Olds Cutlass.

The guy parked it IN THE LOT????? (Cringe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,)

Lol.

VERY cool ride.

It was in front of the front door, so perhaps that was a no-parking area...I really don't know how long it was there, I went out to check on MY car and saw it then, but when I went out a little while later it was gone.

Very cool car indeed!

H/Os are pretty rare beasties to begin with, no matter what year they are. Olds paced quite a few Indy races in the 70s also, from the 1970 442, 1972 Hurst Olds, 1974 Hurst Olds and the 1977 Delta 88.

It saddens me to know and see what they were as a company, deteriorate to the point of non-existence.

I didn't realize they were that rare. A guy I knew in high school had one (of course that was in the 80s), and I saw one three weekends ago (at Road America's vintage races). It kinda stood out as being the least interesting car there, tho. LOL

Wow, what a boat,,much bigger then I remembered. You could put a few bodies in that trunk. Thanks for posting,

FYI, there were no Hurst Oldsmobiles built in 1971. Not sure where a 3 of 25 comes from. I have been around Oldsmobiles my entire life and am also quite familiar with the prototypes and proposal cars.

I know there is a no-no on external links, but I recommend a LMGTFY to Hurst/Olds Club of America's page. LOTS of great info and a neat look into the history of these rare, awesome cars!

I kick myself every day for passing on the chance to own a 73 H/O (I bought the 73 442 instead). Someday, hopefully, I will get another chance.

I'll cede to our expertise in this area.

All I did was meet the owner, tell him "yes" we would love to have him bring his car to Autogeek and then I took the two pictures I added to this thread.

:dunno:
