Seeking Opinions On New Website

I like the site. Do you have a full blown inerior detail? You interior detail seems to be more of an express detail. I've found that most of my customers care more about their interior, and that service seems to be very lacking on your site.

I really like the services page. The exterior prices and services seem very good. But, like I said, you may want to consider another interior option. Also, fabric protection is a very lucrative add on.

Thanks for the comments. And as far as my interior services go what i listed is what i consider a full blown interior job since I dont have a extractor and all my spot cleaning is done by hand for now. Would it be better to up the price of my current full interior package and also create a express option (like a basic wipe down of panels and such)?

Also thanks for the fabric protection stuff, i will definitely be ordering some stuff for that.

Also, try to replace, "us" and "we" with "square one detailing" or "square one" whenever possible. It looks more professional.

I was thinking about that but since its a two people operation i figured it sounded more reasonable to put "us" and "we". Advice taken though, thanks.

You have your exterior wash and wax as recommended 3 or 4 times a month...I assume you mean year...

I suppose this isn't directed towards the layout of the website, but towards the content...

Anyway - I find it much easier to sell paint correction services to a customer when you've got plenty of photos from throughout the detailing process. For example, most people out there truly aren't aware that swirls are an issue - they just figure it is something that happens to everyone. If you show 50/50 shots of polished panels to demonstrate the amazing difference between a swirled paint job and a perfect paint job, they will start to realize their paint needs some serious TLC.

I always like to give myself an extra 30-60 minutes of free time between when I plan to finish the car and when I tell the owner they can pick it up so that I can download the photos to my iPad and present the owner with a short presentation of the transformation that their vehicle has undergone. They are usually blown away at the terrible condition of their paint beforehand (because most people won't examine their paint under halogen lights) and then they're even more excited about the 50/50 and after shots. I don't just do this with paint correction though - I document before and after of wheels/tires (usually gets the owner excited too), Interiors (50/50 of conditioned leather or trim vs. non), etc etc.

As the saying goes "A picture is worth 1,000 words"... and in your case, hopefully some extra money!

Good luck!

Dutily noted sir :xyxthumbs: . Taking pictures has always been a problem that i have and yes i do plan on making more 50/50 shots in order to prove and show what im actually doing. I also have a tablet at home and will more than likely take your advice and load them on there to show the customer before and afters of their vehicle.

Taking pictures while working certainly adds valuable time to the process, but it is the easiest way of marketing what you can do. I sponsor a local car forum in Central Illinois where I have my own section and post very detailed write ups, complete with tons of pictures, and I'd say I've received about 80% of my business from them, so taking the extra time is well worth it!

I post those same write ups on my website (click HERE to see them) and then I also copy them to the AutoGeek Show N Shine page.

Plus I happen to be a huge photography nut, so it helps blend my hobbies together :xyxthumbs:

**Also, purchasing a good camera can easily be included as a business expense - so consider it a tax break as well as a good investment. Unfortunately I was bitten by the photography bug well before I began detailing work so I was unable to write off any of my expenses, but that is beside the point.

^^You just opened up a whole nother can of worms with the cameras. I have used point and shoots all my life and have never used anything nicer. Sooner or later I will have to pony up the cash for a good dslr or something cause my old camera isnt cutting it anymore :(

There are some really good point and shoots now days, and unless you take the time to learn how to properly use a DLSR (shooting with manual or at least semi-manual exposure modes), your results won't be much better. Photography, like anything, simply takes a lot of practice. I quickly became addicted to it (much like detailing) and got rid of my point and shoot and have thousands invested in camera equipment now.... so yeah, you can really open up a whole other can of worms if you want to haha. Anyway, I think the quality of pictures really helped me start my part time business and a quality camera of some sort is a worth while investment in my mind.

Get yourself a tablet PC for pictures,, you can also place all your customer info into mobile apps for reference. You can use photo bucket to store pictures . Most tablets these days have easy t use 8 Megapixel cameras framing is easy and with a 10 inch screen the customer can view a slide show of the work before and after. Just a thought.

Your complete interior cleaning is way to cheap and for my complete interior cleaning stats at $125 and I don't quote a price till I see the interior cause I got burned a long time ago. I don't know how your doing a complete interior cleaning in 2 hours with extraction on clothe seats there's no way the interior is dry enough. When I do a complete interior I keep the car over night to make sure everything is dry.

Site looks good. You've put a lot of work into it, and it shows. Nice work!

Things to consider:

Home Page - Left justify paragraphs. My eyeballs were dancing all over with the different indents on each line of text due to center justified text.

About Us - It's in a professional's best interest not to misspell the word professionals. No apostrophe needed for plural use.

Home Page - Current specials might move up. Services we offer seems a bit redundant since it has its own page. You might consider distilling the home page further so that the user doesn't have to scroll so much. (ipad)

Home Page - You might consider giving location/map its own page.

Actually bought a iPad last year and my customers love it! And I do use photobucket for all my storage but I keep my best pics on the tablet.

Our complete interior is without extraction. We can get it done in two hours no problem since my wife does vehicles with me as well. With extraction we usually add another two hours.

All comments noted. I haven't had anyone with any feedback on the actual layout until now, that'll help a lot. Thanks for the praise, it took a lot of trial and error to get it the way it currently is.

Ok cool wasn't sure if that was with extraction.

I hope my site's as nice as that when it grows up. Just went back and checked the changes. Awesome!

I love the moving pictures , great way to show different work environments. I would add a submit your question section for customers to ask questions or maybe have a seminar on a nice to to have customers see results
