1200 watt halogens arent enough, ok? well the point of the mid way point shot was to just give people an idea of where i am. When the final repair is done i will bring out the 1200 watt halogens.

If those last pics are the halogens, I think you need new bulbs. There are a lot of things that can hide under the halogens. I know you don't use a rotary, but try spotting holograms on a black car under those lights, very hard. Pull the car into the sun, direct sun, and take a few pics. No imperfection can hide from the sun.

If you do decide to do it, you need to mask off the front end, use a wax and grease remove and clean the surface. Paint and clear withh fill in 600 wet sand marks. The clear wont stick to a smooth surface, it would have to be blended. All in all, I think you may have more headaches than you bargained for if you try to do it yourself. Just my .02.

The halogens dont need new bulbs, they are new. the CC wont stick to a smooth surface? wont it look like crap if i sand the CC and just spray more on?

Why are some people being so hard on him? We live and we learn, its all hand ons that will get us to avoid these things later and we will learn from our mistakes.

This is truely one of my biggest fears when it comes to detailing and this is why i rather use fillers 10 times a month then have to take a polish to my car. hope everything works out and hopefully it wont be a costly fix.

Live and learn buddy.

Might want to invest in one of those machines that will tell you the depth of the clear coat before you start working on it?

Also be thankful you didn't do this to the saleen ;)

to be honest it looks in the second pic like you just hit a dirt spot in CC. atleast thats how it looks when i hit dirt specks or low spot at work. BTW i work at bodyshop sanding and buffing freshly painted cars all day
