SEMA 2022/2023 New Products

Carpro really seems to be interested in getting a slick coating, i like that. And it seems most all the companies now are trying to make the application as easy as possible for hobbyists - prosumer line.

Its good stuff..

Dquartz is not a slick coating. A consumer version is in the works.

For some context:

DQUARTZ can be used as a standalone coating for automotive paint and will produce the same results when used on metals. Beyond the hardness improvements, it packs strong chemical and environmental resistances, as well as our greatest pride and joy – slickness and self-cleaning.

But i noticed on carpro facebook the pro version is not slick, the ari guy said - not sure if i have his name right!

Looks like Protech is onto something. I think most agree Car pro is one of the best detailing brands on the market.

Side note: Reggy Cox from labocosmetica stated in a recent video taken in a Korean detailing warehouse that it was the first time he saw Carpro products in Korea. I have no idea how many times he was there before. It was very interesting. Lots of well known brands where there also - Gyeon, sonax, scholls, tacsystems, megs etc

Flex knockoff from HarborFreight Hercules line coming in at $189 saw it in there booth through koon trucking. Forced rotation under $450.

I saw tools like that on aliexpress a few days back.

SPTA has one where head can swivel. I feel like SPTA pretty much ch gets there stuff from an Alibaba supplier. No cap as there micro seems to have a lot of fans as well as there chordless 15. Just seems unbranded versions of there products pop up on there

I'm jacked to try the SPTA 15mm cordless. I wanted a cordless polisher for close to 2 years! The price is just ridiculous compared to shinemate, Milwaukee, flex etc Seen some good reviews. For light polishing it will be hard to beat i hope. The 2nd version seems MUCH better than the first cordless SPTA too. Maybe not end results but the trigger lock and speed dial is a big upgrade.

For me to get the shinemate or even the same SPTA on amazon dot ca both units are over double the SPTA from aliexpress. Flex and milwaukee....

I must of described it wrong? But what you are saying is EXACTLY what I was referring to. 8mm forced VS. Mille 5

i can't speak for others, but for me it is. having a cordless tool/polisher costs more money over time (continued cost) as batteries need to be replaced. at least with the plug-in option, you can run it for however long you want and not have to worry about it running out of power. alternate between battery and plug-in depending on area...

First i have not used a 15mm. But correct me if wrong but isnt the only possible benefit of 15mm over 8 is the possiblity to cover a little more surface area due to longer stroke? But with that you lose the ability of possible quicker more concetrated correction ability?

And i dont personally know any pros so i dont know what machine they use.

Theoretically, an 8mm DA will finish out better than a longer stroke machine, assuming everything else, i.e., pads, polish, paint, remains the same. The same is true for DA sanders. Longer strokes = faster cut. Shorter strokes = a more refined and precise finish.

I don't really have the experience to validate that theory, as I have never used a long throw DA for polishing, but my logic suggests that to be true.

Similarly, forced rotation/orbit DAs may be faster than free-spinning DAs, especially when you need to use the pads edge, but based on my experience using a Rupes Millie (forced) and a Meguiar's MT300 (free spinning 8mm) on black vehicles, the MT300 finishes out better. Again, this is using the same pad and polish. Experimenting with different pads and polishes may close the gap somewhat, but if you are looking for the absolute best finish, I give the edge to the 8mm free-spinning DA.

I believe Mike P was referring to the forced rotation orbit stroke. He preferred the 8mm Flex 3401 over the Rupes Mille, and whatever that Makita was called.

I guess I didn't explain myself correctly. But you do remember the post and is Exactly what I was trying to convey. 8mm forced (3401) vs.. Mille 5mm.

^^Something i'm looking for actually for the spring.

Was looking at solution finish topped with cancoat.

Watched Griot's live stream going over the new products.

The wheel tire mat cleaner had great dwell but they sprayed it 70-80 times on one Land Cruiser tire. I'll stick with tuf shine.

The ceramic tire coating seems like it's worth a try.

3D is announcing 3 new products on Black Friday. I wonder if one is their new Graphene Coating?
