I was just using the 3'' lake county Wool Ball : Lake Country Wool Ball Polishing Balls polish metals, plastics, fiberglass, and more just like a wool pad. Polish wheels, polish metal, wool polish

It was being used for some plastic lens restoration, but the thing was shedding like mad to the point it was comical. Is this normal? Mind you this was not even 2 minutes of use.

Did you spur / wash it before you used it ? Before I use any new wool anything, I always spur and wash them.

any new wool is going to shed. i usually spray with a spritz of water and you can pull a lot of the fluff off that way.

I'd get a small pet hair brush and brush it out really good.

Huh glad I saw this, I ordered the same thing but havent used it yet...good to know to wash it first :dblthumb2:

Well I gave it another shot today after washing and using a pet hair shedding blade.

There were still light scratches that could be seen under strong light, but a good improvement. A white pad would probably get them out.

But, the wool ball still shed all over the place
