SHOWDOWN: Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel v. Poorboy's Bold N Bright v. Optimum Tire Shine

The PB's, was this the spray or gel? I'm assuming gel, but thought I should ask.

I really enjoy comparison reviews like this. I think we all benefit from them, since we all want the products we use to provide ultimate results. We all have our own preferences, too.

Great job.

Larry
Thank you, Larry. I'm also a huge fan of these type of reviews. I was curious on how PB would stand against other products that come highly recommended so thought there was no better way. Not all tires are the same, for example my mother-in-law's tires on her car look best with Pinnacle's tire gel over Optimum and Poorboy's.
Nice work :dblthumb2:
Thanks.
I think Bold N' Bright looks the best.
I will have to agree.

The only gel product I used for this test was Pinnacle. I've never used BnB gel but have also heard great things.

Day 9 update! I think this will be the conclusion of this showoff. All 3 products did a superb job but there can only be one winner. I know it can be tough to see in pictures but here is the order of what I thought looked best.

1. Poorboy's Bold N Bright (Spray)
2. Optimum Tire Shine (Spray)
3. Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel

See for yourself and you be the judge. I just think PB BnB produced the darkest black tire with a nice sheen to it. Very inexpensive and a little goes a long way. Sounds like a winner in my book. I would also like to add i drove a total of 50 miles in the 9 days and it's been sunny the entire time.

I plan on still using other tire dressings out there including the ones I already have.

Have you tried Tuf-Shine's tire clearcoat?
I really like it. After over a month (and zero "top-offs") they still looked nice and black.

Yes, I've heard of it. I like applying tire dressing everytime I wash my car so that product isn't for weirdos like myself. :D

Very nice and helpful review. I'm curious to see which of the three lasts the longest (or at least until your next application).
BTW- I really miss my DC5. Do you still have yours?

No, I traded mine in to get my TL. I do miss it dearly.

Anybody have any experience with the longevity of Poorboys?

PB BnB dressing I know can last for at least a week.
They also have the gel version but have never used it.
There's also a natural look dressing that I haven't had the pleasure of using yet that gives it a more matte look.
