slickest winter wax or sealant?

Idk about slickest but my car has Menzerna Power Lock topped with Collinite 845 for the winter

Just curious how you guys are determining that a wax is still "good" by the end of winter? Before I discovered this site, and my new obsession, my work truck probably went two full years without wax. After two years it could still bead water, but I think we can all agree it absolutely was not "protected" still.

It beads FAR better now. So I guess I'm just curious how you guys determine that a wax is still doing its job?

I like Collinite in the winter. A good rain and the salt and grime falls right off and people are asking my wife if she just washed her car. BFWD isn't bad, but I've had better luck out of Collinite during winter.

I'm trying out a combo of menzerna powerlock topped with collinite 915 right now..I will say this, for having to put away the nice "summer waxes", this combo looked amazing still.

The size and shape of the beads. Bare paint will bead. Compare the beads you have now to the ones you had prior to waxing.

Slickness is only esthetic. It has no bearing whatsover in terms of protection. Don't assume a slick surface offers you any benefits other than look and feel. As long as you have good protection snow wont hurt the paint. A snow layer can actually insulate what's under it from uv, etc.

Slickness is a marketing thing. Nothing more.

I disagree. Slickness makes dirt release easier. The problem with slickness is that it never lasts more than one or two washings. That's one reason I use a spray (D156) to enhance my LSP after each wash. It restores the lost slickness. This added slickness makes my cars much easier to keep clean.

How snow hurts the paint is if you have a car covered with salt, chemical melters, sand and road grime and it gets a heavy, wet layer of snow on it you either push it off or it begins to melt and slide off. In either case, rubbing this grime against the paint as it departs. This will mar the paint no matter what LSP you use as none can resist sand grains rubbing against paint. Snow, in and of itself, would not be a problem if that's all you had to worry about.

Call me crazy but I'm just gonna continue using Fuzion every 6-8 weeks as I have been since the summer.

dont forget about ultima sealant. its much easier to use as it is a one step product. wipe on/walk away. i love it and feel it would hold up well under snow and ice. i tried bwd on a split panel comparison thinking it would be better than us but it wasnt plus i had to 2 step the product which doubled my app time.
