The size and shape of the beads. Bare paint will bead. Compare the beads you have now to the ones you had prior to waxing.Just curious how you guys are determining that a wax is still "good" by the end of winter? Before I discovered this site, and my new obsession, my work truck probably went two full years without wax. After two years it could still bead water, but I think we can all agree it absolutely was not "protected" still.
It beads FAR better now. So I guess I'm just curious how you guys determine that a wax is still doing its job?
Slickness is only esthetic. It has no bearing whatsover in terms of protection. Don't assume a slick surface offers you any benefits other than look and feel. As long as you have good protection snow wont hurt the paint. A snow layer can actually insulate what's under it from uv, etc.
Slickness is a marketing thing. Nothing more.
