SoCal Get Together! This Saturday! Marty McFly's 4x4 Truck!

When I 1st read that I thought you had landed in California.. I was like "what was he on the Concord?!" Lol :)

Just boarded the flight for John Wayne airport. If you're ever flying into SoCal here's a tip, fly into John Wayne instead of LAX as the John Wayne airport is small compared to LAX and in my experience a lot less hectic to get into and out of.

Airport code = SNA

:)

Re: SoCal Get Together! This Saturday! Special Surprise!

If you're reading this and you know one of our forum members in the SoCal area send them a PM with this link.

I don't get out to SoCal very often and Mel Craig was kind to offer up his shop for this project.

The owner of the Marty McFly 4x4 truck says the paint has never been polished or waxed since it was painted and says it NEEDS it.

Also - This truck will be in the Los Angeles Christmas Parade on Sunday so were going all out on this project.

:)

So, it wasn't Marty McFly who was the Slacker, it was Biff! I knew Biff was conning Marty when he said "She's all waxed up"! LOL

True, but can also be more expensive, IME.
Worth the money not to have to deal with LAX, though.

***Update***

It's Saturday morning, leaving the hotel in about 45 minutes to attend the George Barris Memorial Funeral. There's going to be a huge collection of streetrods and custom cars at this event today. I'm riding over with Mel Craig in his hotrod 1960 Falcon.

Not sure when the funeral service will be over but afterwards I'll be heading to Mel's shop and I'll update this thread to give everyone a time frame.

Stay tuned...

***Update***

Had a great time today with everyone at Mel's shop. Have a lot of pictures to share too! The Marty McFly 4x4 had some mechanical issues and was a no-show but that's okay we punished my rental car!

I'll go through the pictures tomorrow and post them to the forum.

Thank you to Mel for hosting this event and to everyone that attended. It was truly my pleasure to meet and work with everyone.

:)

Big thanks to Mike for sharing his time (and for throwing down the PBMG company card for food) and to Mel for hosting this at his shop.

How's this for a Saturday afternoon? Drive over to a great detail shop, spend a couple hours playing with the new Rupes MkII polishers, with hands on tips on technique from Mike Phillips. Good times.

Mike talked about the upcoming roadshow concept, and if they come to your town, I highly recommend going. And ask Mike about drag boats, he has good stories.

Thanks again, gentlemen.

It was great to meet and work with you Ryan. I love putting a face to a forum nickname!

I just finished processing the pictures from this class and next I'll upload them and create a new thread.

Hang tight!

p.s.

My rental car glistens in the parking garage!

:D
