Sonax Perfect Finish vs PF2500

My daily driver is a Toyota with the Winter Grey Metallic Paint. I just ordered some Menzerna Power Finish, but after reading a few more reviews, I am thinking that I should exchange it for some Sonax Perfect Finish. My goal is to get to 70-80% correction and also remove the slight haze that was left by Meguiars D151.

My question to y’all is: is there anything that Menzerna Power Finish can do, that Sonax Perfect Finish cannot do? In other words, is there any reason to have both products on hand?

As an alternative, I suppose that I can keep the Power Finish and add Menzerna SF4000 to my inventory… and use SF4000 to further refine the finish.

If it's only haze your trying to remove, Perfect Finish will be fine. Perfect Finish is great for light washing swirls and final polishing. Power Finish 2500 is a good 1 step for light colors. Dark colors may require another step with SF4000/SF4500.
 
Wow, this could not have come at a better time.

I have PF2500 and am planning on ordering SPF next week to try it out since everyone is raving about it.

From what I understand, SPF excels at finishing on softer paints where other polishes might leave some marring behind. SPF is supposed to cut more than M205 (so I would assume it is similar in cut to PF2500) but finish down better on those more finicky paints (bmw jet black, porsche black, nissan black, and what not).

*Again, I have no experience with SPF, that is just what I have picked up from reading and contacting certain people.
 
SPF is a superior polish. 2500 was on top for a very long time.

Meaning SPF is better than 2500 in your opinion?

Zach, on well maintained cars, SPF is a must have as it will do the job using only one polish. I have the whole Menzerna line and even on well maintained cars, I sometimes will have to do a two step to get the results I'm after. SPF has become my go to polish.
 
Fine fine fine... I'll buy it :)

Have a black GT-R coming up that I was hoping to try it out on since those are supposed to have finicky paint. Upon initial inspection the car was in pretty good shape - only minor surface defects.

Try it with a white Rupes pad. Amazing.

One thing I definitely don't need is more pads... I just stick to my MF Cutting pads and LC Flat Pad collection and have never felt like I am needing something else.

However, Menzerna's PF2500 and SF4000 are used at the OEM level for the scratch-resistant and harder clear costs. Does Sonax Perfect Finish work on scratch-resistant clear costs?

I'm still debating on wether to get the perfect finish or nano polish :/ which one would finish down better on soft paint?

Far cry from being the same price as Menzerna is about $45.00 for 32ozs. and SPF is about $70.00. Sonax is made by Germans, for German cars...think Mercedes. Don't know if it will work well on Infiniti scratch resistant paint.

By German's for German cars? Really?
 
If you have very soft paint, then SPF is better. However, PF2500 has more cut and does not gunk up pads like SPF.

SPF - Great for good condition paint or paint that is very soft. It works perfectly for Porsche, BMW, and Lexus blacks. Finishes better than PF2500.

PF2500 - Works well on almost all paint systems. Can one-step all but the darkest color paints or paint that is extremely soft.

YMMV depending on tool used and pad type. PF2500 is still a very good polish to have in your arsenal. SPF almost has the same cut as PF2500 and almost finishes like SF4500.
 
I think PF2500 has noticeably more cut than SPF, but does not finish as good, especially on soft paint.
