I had a bottle shipped from the geek after seeing all of the photos/reviews of the stuff. Typically, I am a soap and water guy with a few brushes or two applications. My Z06 is God awful with the hard to reach stuff on the wheels.

I decided to test the product on my mom's subaru. She took over my yaris so the subi hasn't been used much. Very VERY dirty wheels...so sonax was put to the test.

LOL, it does look like a crime scene when the color turns on the wheels. I still used a scrub brush here and there as it didn't fully clean one wheel that I tried with the "Spray and walk away" method. Again, I always scrub the wheels regardless which cleaner I use.

I was pretty impressed with it's cutting power. Apparently there was a lot of garbage on these wheels as they turned burgundy rather quickly.

Is it worth, what? $15 a bottle? meh I don't know. I don't think it did any better than what I could have done with a beat up wash mit and gold class or zaino soap. Pretty neat experiment though.

Its quite cool initially (the yellow to blood red color change) but best part its quite safe on all wheel finishes.

That was neat!

I think the only wheel cleaner I've ever seen literally spray and walk away, then my wheels were spotless was 3m stuff. Can't think of the P.N. but the girl at the car wash said it was cut and not to use it straight. I've never seen jet black wheels turn to silver without scrubbing in my life.

i stick with p21s gel wheel cleaner 50/50 water, it does better . and yes i did try sonax.

I used P21s years ago. Good stuff.

What makes any of these expensive wheel cleaners better then ZEP Citrus Cleaner and Degreaser Concentrate?

I would stop while youre ahead. I used that stuff for about 4 months and it oxidized my lug nuts and bolts on my brembos. 200 bux please said BMW.

LOL, No names mentioned, but a place I used to work...we had a guy who LOVED using an acid based cleaner on His wheels. Well, He brought His GF's car in one time. Painted wheels. He was advised against using the acid on them, sure enough, damaged the hell out of the wheels! I like the fact that Sonax is safe as well as soap and water are. No need to take chances! These wheels can be very spendy!

oddly enough, my bolts are also rusted on my brakes on my new car. the only wheel cleaner I have used on this car is the Sonax.

I may switch back to the P21S gel, as Ive never had a problem with it.

I can take pics if anyone wants to see.

Yes please. I've thought about getting sonax, but if it causes rust I love to are it

Pretty cool when I used Iron X on the paint and wheels. Don't have Sonax myself but I'm sure seeing the green turn red was cool.

I know a lot of high end detailers that can't live without a acid based cleaners for sports cars and the normal pedestrian German vehicle. In the hands of someone who knows it works, and works the best.

iomcamaro, I did not forget about the pics, when i get the time to take them this weekend, I will for you.,

to be honest rust is common with simply water, like when calipers rust after a wash, so I am not sure I would attribute it to the wheel cleaner. Like mentioned earlier, I have only used Sonax on the car i'm talking about. I find it to be an awesome wheel cleaner.

at the moment my car has OEM brakes, but I am about to install brembo's. i'm pretty sure they use SS hardware on there brakes, so I would also like to see a pic of the earlier members brakes. if his hardware rusted his shop or manufacturer likely used oxide steel hardware, which again, like stated will rust with simply water and air.

did you use sonax with a powerwasher? or did you you rinse well? because I had and had no problems. but I much rather get other cheaper wheel cleaners that does the same job.
