Any idea wheer I can find a 8mm metric washer? Home Depot or Lowes?
Lowes and Home Depot never have a good selection of nuts, bolts, washers etc. so I got mine at ace hardware.

Tested out 3 R15 and the speeds were all different.
Speed wise, I hover around 4-5. 6 is a bit much. 4-5 is perfect for MF slow compounding. I find on 6 you're driving the pad pretty hard.
Never over 4. I find that focusing the pad and work area at a lower speed is much more effective than using a higher speed and pressure.
Many times a higher speed doesn't mean faster correction as the pad can hydroplane.
I am curious as t what speed works for those that use the Rupes.
I have not had any problems but I was curious?
Thanks

I would like to do this washer mod but I cannot for the life of me get the backing plate off. The bolt is on so tight, everything we have tried has failed. Any suggestions?

This. 4 corrects very well with the right pad/polish combo.

I was indeed asking regarding foam pads, I should have been more clear.
I have the new mini and will be getting the Rupes micro pads.
Mike,do you notice a difference in cut between the 2 blue pads?

Yes Mike, it's Cindy although TSXWench doesn't really work for me anymore since I'm driving a white Honda Accord Coupe. Which looks amazing BTW.:buffing:
I did get the backing plate off after employing a number of the tools mentioned above. Did the washer mod too. I love this Rupes machine.
Have the washer mod that Kevin Brown includes if requested.
