Speed Master Wheel Brush

Yes you can fix it. But you shouldn't have to fix it after a few weeks when they are not cheap to buy. When they use cheap metal to make crap it breaks. A $30 brush should last longer than a weeks with out breaking. The funny part is the description on AG Reinforced, flexible stem haha.

i agree.

and i'll admit it's definitely stronger than the EZ Detail version's stem...it's still super lame.

Looks like a perfect opportunity to invest in a set of wheel woolies...

No more sling. Better, faster, and safer cleaning. 1000x better than the daytona brushes.

i have Wheel Woolies...all sizes. while they have a spot in an arsenal...i rarely use them vs. the Daytona as they just aren't nearly as effective. honestly where i use Woolies the most are with Opti-Clean to clean up any residual inner barrel rusty water that has been blown out from the brake assemblies during wheel drying. that's about it.

the bristles of the Daytona have just enough stiffness, length and spring in them to reach all sorts of places on calipers and hubs, etc. they scrub thoroughly without being too aggressive. there is a TON of action going on with each push or pull of he Daytona. the Woolies are too low profile and soft in texture to be nearly as functional. they don't remove the same amount or types of grime as effectively as the bristles of the Daytona. not the mention the infinite adjustability.

i honestly feel that if they made the wire out of stainless, and once the bristles lose some of their spring through use (thus, reducing splatter), the Daytona would be almost perfect for complete inner area wheel cleaning.

but i'm glad they work for you. considering that, you won't be needing to buy replacements as the Woolies seem to be extremely durable.

I really like the Daytona brushes... They can be bent to get anywhere - Wheel Woolies can't. That's the reason, point blank. When I clean a wheel, I need to clean every square nanometer possible: rotor hats, behind spokes, behind calipers, etc... Yes, I have all the Wheel Woolies including the bent ones.

Two comments:

1. Splatter: I don't really care. I'm not afraid to get a little dirty. I'm not going ballroom dancing after I clean my wheels. In fact, I'm never going ballroom dancing. Pulling the brush out slanted (on an angle not facing you) helps.

2. The brushes break. Yes. You have to buy 2 of the brush size you bend and leave one in the bent position and one straight. I've broken them also closer to he tip. When the tip brakes, they are great to clean exhaust tips. Until someone comes out with something better, I will keep using these brushes because they offer superior results which is my main concern.

Grout tool is great. Very sturdy handle too! :)

I will fix the brush mostly because I don't want to spend money on another brush that will have the same defect. I only do my own cars and if I used the brush 20 times it would be a lot. I feel is bends under its own weight and that causes the break. At least they got the plastic tip to stay on my second one. The first would pop the cap and leave exposed wire. I don't mind beta testing for them if I did not have to buy both prototypes.

I have an idea for a better design, too bad I don't have the manufacturing ability.

Have a good one.

I noticed you couldn't pass up that caulk removal tool either. It's a great idea but I'm not sure how useful it is yet.

As far as the Daytona issue, it is worth fixing. I like mine so much more since the repair. It is more sturdy, which was an issue for me.

I have a complete set of wheel wollies, they are great, I like this to get into tighter spots and to do the wells. Hate getting all the "pieces" in my wollies form the wells.

I never bend mine, I bought two...one to scrub barrels straight and one that I bent just to hit behine the spokes.

I will donate my Speed Wheel Brush (Large one) to any person that is interested. Just pay for shipping. 1st one interested let me know.

I am not a fan of the Speed Brush. BTW, it has been used 2 times. The 1st time was to try it and splattered all over me. The 2nd time I thought maybe it was my technique....NOPE.

That is why I am willing to donate it.

That's on my list

i've had mine for 5 years and use it rough, i only lost the plastic nub and AG sent me a replacement.
