Starting off

squared up is a really kewl ap. Really gotta have 3G to make it work. Times out if you don't.

Receipts when they ask. I automatically make them for any fleet vehicle or business vehicle I do. Looks professional.

Treat your customers right and they will treat you right. I regularly do little extras for my customers. I have one regular customer that only wanted a quick interior job. She was getting ready to leave work and go have her baby the next day. When I took her the keys I told her "Tell the baby Happy Birthday for me, todays work is a quick gift from me to you. No charge." I got a $20 tip for being generous.

I'm entirely mobile but I do offer a rain guarantee. In the last 6 months I've had to redo 3 vehicles and it really doesn't take long. Set a time limit on the redo. I give them one week. One of the customers gave me a $10 tip.

If you want to accept credit cards I would use Suared Up you can use it on Iphone and Droid phones. They take 3% but there is no monthly few like paypal, quickbooks, peachtree ect. The first $1000 you charge goes into your bank acount within a day and anything after that take a week to 30 days
Have you had any issues with Squared up?? This looks like something we can use not only for details but at car shows while selling product. Have been debating the CC thing a while but don't like monthly fees and only use it once or twice a month...

I use this app as well. It's fantastic. I set it up with my business bank account and ein, so I don't have the 1000$ limit.

Great app. They send you a little credit card reader that plugs into the iPhone for free. It arrives about 4 days after activating the account.

You can swipe the card for 2.15%+ $.15 or manual enter for 3.15% +$.15.

I think this is a definate must for any mobile detailer.

Wow - that's good stuff right there.... adding that to my business wish list!

Fortunately I've never had a client refuse to pay. To repeat what otehrs have already said, be honest and upfront w/ clients at the beginning. Then they really have no ground to stand on. I have a pretty good feel for people.

If I came across a situation where it doesn't seem right, I'd tread cautiously. Point out any previous areas of concern and be very specific as to what I'm providing.

The merchant company I'm with offers free wireless card scanners. Same thing as the app, but without the 15 cent charge on every transaction. I switched to this company for that reason alone, cause I knew I was adding mobile this year. Should be handy when the payments start rolling in! Name of the company is Crescent Processing. :dblthumb2:
