New to the forums. Been hanging around and checking out some of the threads for a few months now, just recently able to join for some reason a mod never sent me a confirmation for signing up?
I've always enjoyed detailing cars. But now its getting more serious for me on taking care of my cars the right way. Purchased a Porter Cable 7424XP from here a few months back. Came with Pinnacle XMT Fine Swirl Removal and Pinnacle XMT Finishing Glaze. Got me started since I've had no prior experience with DA polisher. Here are the results I came up with.
This is on my Honda Prelude.
While Im at it, I've been working on removing this stupid clear bra for awhile now. Its been a miserable project but its coming along. Here is a reference shot of the nasty swirls that I had to tackle.
Taped the molding off. Start of my 4 hour detail.
Prior to Correction.
After Correction.
Finishing Glaze waiting to be Buffed off.
Finishing Glaze Buffed off. (Love my paint color!)
Same shot as first one but after correction.
And a sun shot.
Sorry for the lack of quality in the pictures. All off my iPhone. Had a D-SLR but sold it and in the process of getting a new one so bare with me until then lol.
Here is where I am at with the Clear Bra as of now.
Almost done
I have about 8-10 hours in trying to get this stupid thing off. Using a heat gun a little pieces off at a time is what is making this a long process. Then all of the left over adhesive making it more time consuming.
Newb Question-
Still have some slight swirls in different angles in the sun. Next go around I plan on going with M105/M205 combo. Then finishing off with Blackfire Wet- Ice Over Fire. My question is- Is that all I need for sealing everything up or after I've done all those steps do I still need to get a sealant to finish up?
Thanks for the help! Hope to get to know some of you guys.
