For those of you that utilize some type of steamer with your detailing work, what do you use it for the most?

Please be specific! :props:
 
For me its a go to tool when i detail engines but i use it mostly on soiled carpets/matts and fabric seats
 
Have used it under the hood where it latches and the springs (they had oil and grease on them and I want to re-lubricate them). Used on door jambs, soiled seats, and floors on interior. Used under and around Front Grill area.

That is all I can think of that I used steam on. May have used in other areas but it is to hot to think any harder, my brain will start sweating, LOL:dblthumb2:

Windows baby!!! Carpets, seats, leather, headliners, door panels, rubber stripping, tar on rocker panels, wheels sometimes, engines, wax on trim, door jams, jeez I could use it on everything!!

VX5000 turned up to 5.5 bars.

Let's see...

Interior:
* Stained carpets/mats/seats
* Cleaning consoles and cupholders
* Extremely dirty glass
* Air vents and dash seams

Door Jambs

Engines (never around electrical connectors/wiring)

Cleaning old wax/polish from panel gaps/etc.

There are all kinds of cool things you can do with steam!
 
It rocks on windows. Door jambs, sills, carpets, vents, engines...use on everything pretty much except the client.
 
Since this poll is on top of every thread I use I voted for other - because I don't own one.
 
I use mine on a lot of interior stuff; carpets, seats, door panels, etc and also in door jambs. i love steam

I use my steamer for EVERYTHING I can think of!
 
Engine, carpet and floor mats, cloth seats, glass. Use the VX 5000 turned up to 6 bars. Steam is great.

I'm with ya' there. I use the steamer anywhere and every where. mostly used on wheels and door jams and engines. but have used it on almost every surface in and on a vehicle.
 
Interior: Literally everything

Engine bay, underside of the hood.

Exterior: Touch up any missed spots on rims, gas caps, blasting away dried up residue from emblems, etc.
 
I use my steamer on just about everything except the paint and wheels when detailing a car. It works well for all trim, interior, engines, wheel wells, gas caps, exhaust tips, doorjams, etc etc.

Best tool i've ever owned for detailing.
 
can you guys post some pics of your steamers/attachments i guess im having a hard time picturing what kind of attachments your using on all this stuff...thanks guys!!
 
I use mine on the interior. I really only pull it out for bad stains I can't get out by hand, and also really gross stuff I wouldnt dare touch with my bare hands haha.

Other than that, door jambs for the crusty dirt in the seams and thats about it.
 
Vx 5000, great maching that is very well made. its my go to for alot of stuff in detailing and around the house
 
Interior:

  • Door sills
  • Hinges
Engine bay

  • Everything not electrical/paper/otherwise not steam friendly
