Like the title says. I can't get the swirls to come out of my Berlina Black honda s2000. I'm using pc 7424xp with orange ccs pad with wolfgang total swirl remover 3.0. Followed with white ccs pad with wolfgang finishing glaze 3.0. Both on speed 6 on pc. What am I doing wrong. It gets most of it out but not the fine marks. Should I go with megs 105&205 combo and different pad set up. If so, then what.

Thanks.
Brandon

Honda vehicles are very soft paint. So it is usually hard to get perfect without leaving micro marring. Try the Finishing Glaze on a Green or Black LC pad on speed 4.

Lower from speed 6 to say 3. A finishing glaze is not doing any correction BUT your white pad might be creating micro scratches. Any time you do a paint correction step with an orange pad then jump down to a finishing glaze......you're skipping a step.

Thus leaving behind some micro marring so try the swirl remover with the white pad or a black pad....hydro-tech pads work great for these steps....then check your work. Before you go to a glaze the paint should be near what you deem "perfect".

The Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is actually not a glaze. It is a light polish. But I agree on lowering the speed as I mentioned above.

Ah, I stand corrected. Never used the product myself so thanks for that info.

Well I was just goofing that all up lol. So what pads and compounds would be the best for honda paint (black). like what compoumd with what pad. Thanks

Be certain that you're applying the right amount of downward force to facilitate efficient correction and also to ensure that the pad is rotating...

Speed 6 is pretty fast and might be part of the problem. Give these a try and see if it helps.

Sectional Pass

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0

  • 5 1/2" Flat Orange pad - Speed 5
  • 5 1/2" Flat White pad - Speed 5
Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0

  • 5 1/2" Flat White pad - Speed 4
  • 5 1/2" Flat Gray pad - Speed 4

It's not clear if you aren't getting the swirls and marring that's already there or if you are leaving behind some caused by your process. Try a test spot using WGTSR on white speed 5 then follow with WGFG on either black or blue pads if you have them on speed 5 or even 4. Take a look then. Make sure you aren't using to much product too, you only need say 2 or 3 dime sized spots of product once you have the pad primed.

Have you read this and watched the videos? http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...le-7424xp-g110v2-griot-s-garage-polisher.html

A couple of pictures of what you are seeing would help a lot!

Thanks a lot guys. No photos yet. I will get photos tomorrow hopefully.

do a couple of test spots with the recomdations of bobby and anthoney

85RD on a Crimson Hydrotech pad..5.5" low profile ones..I use it on speed 5 on my car..my paint is SUPER soft and it works GREAT...Sonax nano paint cleaner is another very good item to use on super soft paint

Ok. Well for some reason i cant get the photos to upload. The car looks great in certain lighting. But when the flash is on and it reflects off the car it looks like crap. In the sun it looks great as well. What can i do. Is it just the flash making it look bad or are there other things im doing wrong.

throw that damn light away and just go by what you see in the sun...Those lights are a curse. They will cause you to stress out over things no one is ever going to see unless they bring a light with them to shine on the paint.

Usually if you can't get a photo to upload it's because it's named using the wrong file format, for example there's a space in the file name. Or because it's too large, the results of ever increasing size of pictures files by high res cameras.

If you're going to be a "Forum Person" on ANY forum, help yourself by learning how to work with picture on the Internet

If you e-mail me one photo I can tell you what's going wrong.

They don't call the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light the Cruel Master for nothing.... this also applies to any light that does a good job of revealing swirls, like a camera flash.

Here's a question for you,

How much of the car have you buffed out so far?

:)

:iagree: Stevie Wonder and Helen Keller never complain about swirls!

LMAO...I don't think Ray Charles did either...I think if you have it looking good in the

sun, then you probably have gotten as much correction as you can...85-90 percent is

really good!!:xyxthumbs:
