Still crazy about D114

I'll take it off of your hands Kevin, I'll bring something to barter with too!

When you say your onto Echo, your talking about the new CarPro RW, right?
I knew you'd take some, Roger. Yes, CarPro echo. Need to see what all the fuss is about :).

Yeah Kevin I bought some Echo as well and used a 7:1 ratio but after reading more about it I think I should have doubled it. It said between 5:1 and 10:1 so I basically split the diff.

I think tonight Echo is going to be used as a RW and doing the GD method. This make the 4th different RW used to clean my car, no I just gotta remember to use 3D next weekend to keep the streak alive, LOL.

1:15 works well for me. Any more concentrated I think it'll be too streaky.

1:15 for rinseless or for QD? What ratio is everyone using for drying aids?

I used it 1:10 last night and it worked pretty well. I also tried it on a coated car, wow.

1:15 for waterless wash. I think 1:20 should be fine for drying aid. It's very viscous and spreads like a gel.

Thank you!

Now I need an empty gallon jug, pour my 7:1 mix in there and top off with a half gallon of distilled and I'm good to go. I should have know better because the Echo poured out thick, that's what's great about our forum

Thanks for reminding me to try and grab another gallon or two of D114 to stash away. I'm surprised Meg's discontinued it due to low sales. It seemed to have a great reception from most people on here. Maybe the dilution ratio is too much for sales to justify?

The fact that my wash media looks brand new due to the way D114 releases dirt is second to none. And having a freshly painted car, it is the only option for a rinseless for me.

D114 when used as WW is quite 'grabby' compared to Uber or UWW+. Sometimes that disturbs me as potentially marring the paint.

Try a different towel next time. I find towels that have longer fibers tend to be grabbier with it. You can also spray with a bit of D156 to wax as you dry when doing a rinseless with D114. it will be plenty slick then.

He makes a good point and it's very true. This is typical of D114, even when sprayed this heavily it doesn't just bead up and run off.

Wolfgang Uber on the other hand, especially if sprayed onto a wet surface pretty much falls right off the paint compared to D114 [and also D155 Last Touch and D115]

well u have one on a horizontal panel and the other on a vertical so of course it will fall off easier

if everyone loves it so much why was it discontinued any ever get an answer on that?

If you scroll down a couple more posts, you'll see I did a test of both products on an equal panel. It's right here in this same thread...

I just did a 50/50 test to show the difference in behavior between D114 and Wolfgang Uber.

Notice how D114 lays flat on the paint, almost as if it never learned how to bead.

Wolfgang Uber. Beads.

Just prior to wiping it down, I sprayed even more Uber across the hood. Still beads.

Meguiars is a big company - relative to the other detailing companies. If you look at it from their marketing perspective and purely from a P&L perspective...

This:

Is competing with this:

Smaller companies with perhaps less overhead can bring you the 114 varieties of the "D114" washes that you want, but Meguiars presumably has a different bottom line in their much broader market.

I can only imagine how many "average Joes" out there think these rinseless or waterless washes are just a bunch of bunk. I'm no environmental wacko but you clean your car better and use Waaaaay less water. I mean you need the hose to make solution and to clean the tires, wheels and wheelwells, that's it. I'm surprised the waterless and Rinseless isn't a bigger deal in California and for whatever reason people seem to how down to their lead and go from there i.e. C.A.R.B. for instance.

Those same people probably roll their eyes and say "no thanks, I'll stick to running my car thru the trusty car wash at the gas station"! Lol.

Thanks for this information.
(It's too late to "edit", though.)

that: the below questions really
should be a cake-walk for you.
As such:

1.) How many syllables, per line,
are acceptable in a meme?
2.) What's a meme?
