Customer contacted me about getting his WRX polished as it had not been cleaned for 6-7 months from being way to busy...plus he had it taken to a detailing car wash here in GA called Cactus Carwash a few months prior to that and had them detail it. Said the car came out looking terrible all over and just had not had time to get it corrected elsewhere. Customer wanted to get my 2-Step Polish package as he knew the Subaru clears are really soft and easily correctable.
This one though was not an easy job. Clear seem to be even more soft than normal and was really hard to get the polishs off the paint without lightly marring the paint with the towel. The glaze that Cactus Carwash is known to use...was a PITA to get off the paint before hand and over-all this was not an easy job as every step had something that did not want to work right. Took me a good three hours longer than normal. But ended up with roughly 90-95% correction.
Process:
3 Foam Washes with CG Citrous Wash to break down the glaze on the paint
Washed w/ TBM w/ CG Cirtous Wash'n'Gloss
Rims/Tires w/ Diablo Wheel Gel
Clayed w/ Pinn. Ultra Poly Clay w/ ONR Clay Lube
IPA Wipedown
Taped w/ 3M Automotive Tap
Buffed:
SIP w/ LC Orange Pad via GG DA Speed 6
IPA Wipedown
Ultrafina w/ LC BLack Pad via GG DA Speed 6
LSP:
Menzerna Powerlock
CG Concourse 50/50
Windows:
Stoners Invisible Glass
Tires:
Pinn. Black Onxy Tire Gel
Before...
Shots of the paint upclose before...
Some compounding left from Cactus...
Testing the hood to figure out my process...
Pulled out into the sun to see how it looked under that light...
