I bought a dashcam. See the link The problem is suction cup. It won't stick. I even cleaned the windshield. It still doesn't work. I have an idea but need to ask your opinion. I can use 3M removable mounting tape on the suction cup and put it on the windshield, will that work? I am so frustrated trying to put it on the windshield. I have tried everything such lick on it, put a little bit of salvia, clean the suction cup and use alcohol. Nothing works. Help me, please??

Is it just a push on type suction cup or does it a lock lever type?

dampen the rubber cup then try to stick it.....that allways helps with my GPS

superglue? will it damage to the windshield? will it stay permanently? If I want to take it off, how do I do that?

What's the temperature in your area? I had a problem with my radar detector suction mounts recently because its been so cold, I finally got them to stick after the interior was warmed up.

Some suction cups just ain't no good. Some just don't work. Order a different mount. Once they don't stick - they never stick.

I live in Las Vegas. Right now it is 66 degrees.

A couple of things come to mind. You cleaned your windshield, but did you clean the suction cup?

Be sure not to touch the concaved portion of the cup, or windshield where you plan to secure it, with your fingers as you could leave an oily residue.

Also, if you are trying to get it to stick to a portion of the windshield that is curved, you may want to try for a better location.

Good luck.

With lever lock suction cups you need to place the suction cup on your windshield with the lever lock in the open position, press the air out from under the cup, and THEN lock the lever back with increases vacuum. Have you tried this?

Try using a bit of rubbing alcohol on the spot you want to apply the suction cup, let it dry well and then try sticking it.

Those suction cup mounts; and/or the tell-tell remains from where the suction cup/device are removed on a daily basis...
Are excellent clues: For which thieves keep their thieving-eyes peeled.

Hate 'em both.

Yep I sure did and guess what happened? the lock lever is broken. When I locked the level, it snapped. lol. Apparently it was a cheap one. I contacted the customer service rep. in China. Yep, that's right. It is in China. ugh. They're having "Spring Festival" as we speak. They won't be back til February 6th. It looks like they'll send me a new one after February 6th. I just love it. (yeah right).

I may end up buying dashboard mount but the problem is the bracket. If I put it on a dashboard mount, it will not be able to record in rear. Any suggestions/idea? I'd like to avoid putting it on the windshield.
