Ya I wanted to try the white pad as well but I didnt. The paint looks better but it still has its problem areas. I'm gonna try the white pad tomorrow. It seems to like the water trick with a black pad around #4-5 setting on the boss 21. It will drive ya crazy. Thanks....

Oh your using a boss that could be your problem there.
Sometimes paints dont like long throw orbitals.
Try using a porter cable or a griots garage 6 inch.
Ive worked on paints like subaru and ironically a black porsche just like larrys video and i tried everything with the boss 21 and the paint didnt like it at all.
So i busted out my porter cable and pf2500 and i got 95% correction then followed with sf4500
Samething happend on a subaru sti wagon couldnt use the boss pc again with sf4000 and a griots correcting pad i got close to absolutely perfection with that combo with a pc

I'm glad you brought that up Bc I was wondering if the boss was to much. I really enjoy using the boss... I will put the PC to it though.. Thanks bud

The boss is my best friend if i dont use it for a while i just pick it up and clean it etc lol.
However its not great for every single paint while 8/10 cars its my go to but like i said i went on a mobile call to do that 03 911 and the paint was so soft the boss created to much heat and was doing more damage then fixing.
The longthrow on soft paints scoured the paint.
The small 8mm throw is sometimes the ticket and if i didnt bring my pc that day i would of lost 400$

So if you had to use water and polish to not mar the paint that tells me right away that paint is softer then playdough try the pc

Well just an update for any of you guys that just may be wondering. I went back at it today (neighbors think I am nuts) using my Porter Cable this time but with still the same scoured results. I wish i would have wrote down all the different combinations that i had used today because i used a lot. what i got satisfied with was still my boss black pad and water/polish mix that still left just a little "tick" or DA marring marks.
The uphill battle i was having was every time i wiped off my product with my towel (all towels where new microfiber) i could see definite scratches following me as i wiped. I kept working backwards so i figured maybe the polish was still to harsh along with my microfiber towel while removing it. So i soaped down the truck for lubrication and hosed off my product. That kept the fine scratches out of my clear then followed up with a hand application of M66. Looks real nice.
This was all on the left side of my truck bed. This has been repainted before I owned the truck (Dodge has a bad rust problem over the wheel wells). Maybe this could be an example of the owner did not let the clear harden up before applying a wax over top the fresh clear after the body-shop repaired it or maybe the body shop mixed it wrong or a cheap clear product was used. All i know is if you just look at it wrong your gonna scratch it. I finished up the rest of the truck with my BOSS and M205 cleaned up good.. Thanks again guys..

If the paint is so soft that the microfiber towel is marring, try getting them damp with water or ONR/Waterless for added lubrication during polish removal.

We've worked on some nightmare finishes where no matter what you do the paint will scratch from wiping off the polish. The worst was on a classic Thunderbird with 30 year old single stage black. We must have spent 3 hours testing different finishing techniques to get the paint haze free and wiped away without marring.
It finally came down to religiously cleaning the pad (after every single pass) and using our emergency, next day air shipped, Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile towels to wipe off the residue. We gave the towels to the owner and told them not to touch the paint with anything else... Now we keep a few MM towels in stock, sealed, ready for the next problem finish we encounter.

It was driving me crazy Bc the rest of the truck was taking the polish just fine. I enjoy cleaning my vehicles but now I don want to touch it. I may re-clear it whenever I find time. I will have to look up these microfiber towels you speak of. Thanks man.

Did you try the pc with the water and polish mixture also dont use tap water use distilled water (88 cents at walmart)
Try the pc with the H205
(If you haven't tried it already)
Also try using menzerna sf4500 or sf4000 i dont know if you used it already but give it a try.
If not try sf4000 with distilled water have you tried sf4000 yet ?

Hey bud I did try the PC and I was getting the same results. I went to D302 and water mix with my boss on a black pad and that got me good results. I just needed to find a better way to remove my spent product. My microfiber towels kept marring it back up. I did not mix the sf4000 in water but it would be nice just see how the different combos in water would do. I'm done messing with it had to walk away for now lol..Thank you for your follow up.

Your right, I have no clue what to pick I been reading up on different ones. I would like ti get it applied before the snow falls. I enjoy waxing and and cleaning not sure what one will allow me to wax over top the coating? Been lookin at backfire crystal coat and DP paint coating. If you could suggest anything else I would appreciate it.

Or why they don't reformulate a new version of M205 for softer paints? To me this seems to be the hole in their line. They have great compounds, I love M100 and M101 and M205 rightoutt of the bottle is great on harder paints. Seems like it's time to bring out a new polish for softer paints to compliment their line.
I've never seen this product fail on any paint. It's completely bubba-proof.

Mr. Phillips I did not try the SF 4000 I got locked in thinking I couldn't get any finer than the H20 mixture but I am happy with the results it performed. I wish I would have tried the SF 4000 now if it is that user friendly it is a great product though. I appreciate your input!
