Well, since I broke down and gave the car a regular wash today, I decided to scrub the new Falkens ... not that much scrubbing was needed for new tires, and try out a new (to me) tire dressing, Megs Endurance.

Following the directions for a more muted shine, I wiped ... ok, slopped the gel on to get in in those wonderful grooves tire makers put in the sidewalls, then waited about 1/2 hour and wiped off the excess. Originally I took a pic with the flash on, but then it showed the tread of the tire and the fender well (which are not cleaned and dressed) so, no flash.

Let's see how long this holds up through this weather.

Megs Endurance Gel is the longest lasting of all the dressings I've used....wicked shine, too. Some tires it took to, some it didn't. Just make sure to wipe off the excess to avoid sling

It's hard to find anything wrong with Meguiars Endurance Gel. It smells good, it looks amazing immediately after applying it, lasts pretty long, doesn't sling. [I've never had it sling]

Makes quite a dramatic difference. Can you tell which tire has Endurance and which 1 doesn't? Lol.

I'm guessing the rear tire?

Man, that stuff seems kind of crappy.

Endurance is my go to tire gel. I love the look. However I have to disagree about longevity. And it does sling. I’ve used it on all my cars, low profiling high performance tires to truck tires, and it applies well to all. But it does sling. Most of my cars are white so the sling is easy to see.

Lately I have been using Meguiars tire coating whupich is an aerosol so easy to apply. I actually like it a lot. It lasts long too. The only negative about it is the price. I get 2 cars out of a can. A can costs about $12.

This is also my go-to for tire dressings. I stopped using it after getting Megs All Season Dressing because it was easy to apply to our daily drivers. Not sure why I stopped other than I love the smell of the All Season Dressing.

I've never had sling from Endurance, though and I slime it on, too. But I make sure that no product is pooled in the outside edge of the tire because I believe that is where the sling comes from.

Wow why it slings for some and doesn't for others I don't know, what I do know is if I didn't wipe off the excess it slung. I switched to Optibond and love it, but I also liked the way Endurance worked. So we stick to what we like.

On a side note - what is a good applicator for Endurance? Right now I'm using a MF covered foam pad for application and I feel it leaves a lot to be desired. There has to be something better.

I like these square foam applicators.

This product always slung s#&t all over my car, so far in the rear view mirror. I suggest 303 Tire Balm to people looking for a great tire dressing that doesn't sling onto your car!

The BFG's had a very smooth sidewall, whereas the Falkens have those tiny 'ridged' areas that make it difficult to get dressing in using a flat applicator (like my MF covered foam ones) unless you really slop it on, but then you definitely have to wipe down the tire to avoid sling. Too, the Falkens don't seem to absorb the dressing like the T/A's did. I think the T/A's were getting old and dry ... when I would scrub them to get them clean, once they dried, they were a gray color until dressed.

Too funny and odd at the same time...

I've been OCD about constantly applying tire products aka tire shine to tires for the past 20yrs. and I've only had 1 set of tires that had sling.

These tires. Hyper Dressing. Happened like 5 straight times no matter how hard I tried, I even blow dried the tires and they sat outside parked for an entire day and they still slung all over both sides of that truck.

...But other than that, I've never had a tire product sling, and I've tried alot of tire products.

My tires have ridges and I used to just spray and walk away w/Hyper Dressing with no problems.

How long do you guys allow it to dry before driving? I usually allow about 20-30min.

Ideally 1hr. or even more.

In a rush sometimes only 10-15min. but never less than that.

Typically, I dress the tires, then finish whatever I'm doing to the body (glass, another coat of UFF, vacuum etc) then with the BFG's, the dressing would have soaked in enough to where sling was never an issue. With the Falkens, like I mentioned, they don't seem to absorb the dressing so last night, I applied, waited 1/2 hour, then wiped. I'm going to check them again before I visit my mom & dad this morning.

**EDITED TO ADD**

I just checked the tires and it seems like the dressing has leveled out and has crept into all the nooks and crannies that I was having a hard time getting when first applying the gel. Plus it looks like there isn't so much dressing that it's going to sling when I drive it later. And even thought I wiped off the excess last night for a "muted" shine, they are still shiny as all get out ... which I'm starting to like since that's how my paint is, now they match.

the GG black shine high gloss tire spray is another great choice as well...

LIke the appearance and while I never had it sling on the paint, it does come off and onto the wheels. Mixed with Brake dust after 1 week it needed cleaned off. I've since switched to Meguiar's Hot Shine Reflect Tire Shine. It comes in an aerosol which IMO is the worst for application so I just spray it onto a pad and wipe on the tires. Looks great, last a while, doesn't sling and very minimal coming off onto my wheels.

Unless you have a bro truck with those knobby tires I would never ever spray an aerosol onto the tires, waaaaaaaaaaay too many options out there to keep overspray away from your paint and/or nice wheels.
