Testing Meguiar's ENDURANCE Tire Gel

Endurance gel is great and I have been using it all the time. It would sling tho, so you need to be patient and let it set for at least few hours before driving the car. I normally do the tire coating as my last step and leave the car overnight, never slings this way. The durability is much better compared to other tire dressings I used (mostly meguair's and optimum's). However it's rather shiny. If you rather have a matte finish, this may not for you.

Why use a product that slings....

That's what I was thinking. I've switched to only used water based TD. CG Silk shine and PERL both diluted down 1:1 work really well. But then I prefer the satin new look over the glossy wet look.

I used to use Megs stuff and Black Magic but the sling mess was too much. Black magic and PERL have been the only products I've ever used that have survived a washing.

Try the new 303 Tire Balm

I quit using it because of the sling.

I tried it and was underwhelmed with it. The scent is nice but other than that it did not last long in my collection before giving it away to someone else free of charge.

I would always give the tire a good wipe down after a few minutes and that eliminated any sling. I liked it.

That was very nice of you, we need more of that.

I also have Endurance. I find the gel to be much better with preventing sling then the aerosol. But i think it also depends on the tires and how much time put into it. I have 35x12.50x17 Nitto TG's and the gel works great. even with a final wipe down to get the excess, there's always some in the cracks that end up on my side steps though, so i think if you have more of a car tire with smoother sides, the gel and a good wipe should pretty much take care of any sling. I like the product. Ill take anyone's extra they don't want anymore :)

Unless you have a bro truck with those knobby tires I would never ever spray an aerosol onto the tires, waaaaaaaaaaay too many options out there to keep overspray away from your paint and/or nice wheels.

Ha!

"Bro-Dozer"?

I've used Endurance since it was released.

Personally I hate any kind of tire shine because they're so messy. Never once have I've had endurance sling though. Looks good, lasts well enough.

My favorite at this point is the Megs Ultimate Tire Coating. It almost choked me to death the first time I used it - in a garage...

I've since started application after washing/drying, (before I quick detail it with M34) which keeps it out of the garage.

Thank you. I wish I could see how the people with sling actually go about dressing tires..

I apply the product to the applicator, wipe it in and let it dry before moving the vehicle. With the products I've been using the past couple years it's really that simple. Has Megs done something different to the product in the past 20 years since it came out?

I dunno, I 1st tried Endurance Gel maybe a couple of years ago. That 1st bottle lasted me so long because I only really use it on 1 vehicle I do maybe every 6 weeks.

What kind of applicator do you use?

Today (actually yesterday) I noticed a VERY small amount of sling INSIDE the rear fender well. This isn't a deal-breaker though. I think I will get a brush-type applicator (Or a better sponge applicator) and continue use. I didn't notice any sling on the paint.

Yeah, these are the ones ... BTW, It's 4:50 AM here in Ohio, WTH are you doing up so early in Ca.?

You mean up late... It’s about to be 2am. over here. I don’t have to get up early tomorrow.

Six of one, half dozen of another  I have to be at work at 8 AM, and I HATE, HATE, HATE having to rush or fight with idiot traffic, so I get up at 4 AM and leave at 6 AM for work (about an hour trip one way). So that's my reason.
