Testing Meguiar's ENDURANCE Tire Gel

The more important question is this, why use a product that slings in the first place? Try the new 303 Tire Balm and you'll see what I mean

You're up early too. Does AG sell the 303 Tire Balm?

It's never slinged for me... And I'm not interested in 303, I use Hyper Dressing.

It's never slung either..

Or I'll use TW Endura. No sling just like everything else I've tried in the past 20yrs. Lol.

So of the Pro-series products, which would be the most durable, Hyper Dressing, or All Season Dressing?

“They” say All Season Dressing lasts longer... They also say Hyper Dressing doesn’t last. But I totally disagree with the latter. I’ve always said that once you begin using Hyper Dressing @1:1 it tends to condition deep into the rubber, which in turn leaves you with deep black tires non stop even through washings.

Just look at the tire after having been cleaned with D108 Super Degreaser @4:1. This is After.

After being cleaned with Megs D114.

And they both pulled plenty of gunk off..

And they say Hyper Dressing doesn’t last? Some people don’t know what they’re talking about... Or they must be using it @4:1, which IMO works horrible.

For the products I use, there's no special tricks to keep it from slinging, dispense, wipe on and let dry for about minutes, that's it. I mean if your into hoops and all, go for it.

I haven't tried hyper dressing yet but everything I use is ready right out of the bottle.

I used the Endurance gel probably 15 years or so ago. Honestly all I remember about it was it smelled like grape soda, and I did like the look. As far as the Hyper Dressing vs. All Season Dressing, I have used both and continue to use All Season, to me it has more longevity and looks better. Don't get me wrong Hyper dressing is a good product, I still use it on things, just not tires.

During the Black Friday sale I almost picked up a bottle of the Megs Endurance gel just to check it out again. I already have a few tire products to go through before I add more. My favorite right now is Gyeon Tire.

So a 1:1 is the key with hyper dressing? Do you use it only on tires or on all other trim as well?

Also I'm curious on longevity of hyper dressing at 1:1 compared to all season dressing, 303 tire balm, endurance and the megs ultimate tire coating...and which will not attract dirt/dust like a magnet

Minerigger if you want to test Hyper vs. All Season for yourself, pm me your address I will ship 16 oz. of each to you. Just give me 1-2 days to order a couple bottles to ship it in, and getting it to you might take a few more due to the Holidays.

I don’t jump through any hurdles.

Mostly on tires & wheel wells. Once in a while I wipe down the plastics and rubber underneath the hood using paper towels. I maintain weatherstripping with it too. I don’t think you’ll find anything that does better on it.

Hyper Dressing does attract dirt/dust, that’s why I don’t apply it to exterior trim and it’s a nightmare if you apply it to windshield cowls [at least IME using it 1:1] However you don’t notice dirt/dust on tires & wheel wells until you go to clean them because they remain black regardless.

If you want a tire product that doesn’t attract dirt it’ll have to be a coating. Same for trim.

What's the method for keeping Megs Endurance from slinging again?

Just wipe it in with a foam block or whatever applicator works and leave it be for about 20min. at least. I never knock down anything.

You also gotta think environment when we are talking about stuff lasting. Southern California is way different than buffalo NY or Seattle Washington or Elk Grove village Illinois.

Most these water based things don’t last long at all once rain or snow hit lucky if it makes it sorta through one rain

Id ake you up on that but we just got hit with snow and it's made it to a whopping 20* since Sunday night. I think my detailing is done till spring. I have hyper dressing but was curious on the all season because of the snow here. Any input on that?

I use both All Season Dressing and Endurance Tire Gel...no contest here in wet and rainy Portland, OR...Endurance easily outlasts All Season. Also, I threw on 2 coats of Endurance on to my tires last night waiting 30 minutes between the coats and drove 100 miles today with no sling at all.

My new approach is to reserve All Season Dressing (which I love the smell of) for the summer time for wheel wells, plastic trim, and tires. Otherwise, rest of the year, it's Endurance.

Here in Portland, I find that All Season fares so-so in the rain...that is, it looks great after it rains if the car wasn't driven, but once driven, it fades quickly, especially on exterior trim.
