WOW Mike!
Dealers just don't get it... I mean WOW!
I take it you told him your measurements, he told the dealership... then they STILL hacked at it.... AGAIN.
Yeah... looking at it (without a ptg) it'd look like an easy enough fix. Guess that's where they thought "just hit it again Shoeless Joe".
At a loss for words.... just WOW!!!!!
So now that he has half his film build missing, wonder what the GM 'solution' will be?
I know I had Ford paint a rollback for me back n the 80's. They were having problems with it flaking off on the horizontal surfaces on all F series, so they agreed to paint PART of it. Shop manager set me up a date, said they'd keep it a week.
It was flaking on the front of the hood, all the way to the back, along the cowl, and the roof. Thing is, there was NOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAYYYYY I was going to let them get away with just the horizontal surfaces. (
Which is what the BS manager said they'd do.)
So that Saturday afternoon I got out a heated pressure washer from a buddy of mine. His would do 5000 PSI, 5 GPM @ 210°. Believe you me... paint was flying off of it like leaves in a windstorm on the bad parts! But the sides were a bit more stubborn, especially the back of the cab. That part took a bit of 'help'.

Might have been 'loosened' with the edge of a knife then hit with the pressure washer. :dunno:
Drove it to the dealership that Monday morning at 7:00 to meet the shop manager and he said "WHAT THE HE- - did you do?"
I just smiled and said, "
Nothing... hand washed all the time is all this puppy ever gets."
Ford even paid for me to go back to the sign shop and have it all re-lettered and re-pinstriped!
