The "Most Durable" Thread....

Tire Dressing - Ultima Trim & Tire Guard (UTTG)
Wheel Glaze - Ultima Trim & Tire Guard (UTTG)
Exterior Trim - Ultima Trim & Tire Guard (UTTG)
Interior Plastic Trim - Ultima Interior Guard Plus (UIGP)
Paint Sealant - Unsure
Wax - Unsure

Agree on all counts! I do my rims with DG 501 over 601 and then do the tires & rims with UTTG. No need for wheel cleaner anymore! DG 105 over 601 gets my vote for most durable sealant. UPGP gets my vote for best looking. Most durable rubber weatherseal is DG 531.

Most durable rubber weatherseal is DG 531.

Good one Jim!! This one goes unnoticed it seems and is an incredibly durable product! It hasn't faded a bit on that rear bumper I applied it to either!

Well you know what they say about great minds! Seems we cant spread the word about DG 531 as well as we (mostly you) about Ultima products.. Its great and a fantastic value. Us convertible guys know how seals make or break the dB level with the top up.

I was VERY interested in Klasse for durability - then I read all the difficult stories on the web. Being a beginner to all this, the stories scared me off that product. The decision may or may not have been sound. I just questioned if it was a product for beginners.

What was the difficulty? I haven't really heard anything other than it can be hard to get off. I just use a little pinnacle crystal mist on the tough stuff and it comes right off. I'm a beginner too.

I just tried it after quickly washing the rims with ONR!!

And I was literally shocked!! Its so easy to apply!!! And more so, to remove(I removed it after 20 mins or so)

Its soo much better than anything I've been using till now!!

Best part is, no dried whitish residue etc.

Thanks a lot for enlightening me!! This is just so amazing!!:dblthumb2:

Thats terrific news! I'm glad it worked out well for you! This is just an unbelievable product imo. Pretty slick to eh?

You got it Jim! We will have to re-double our efforts! LOL
Maybe its time for a review on DG 531 pretty soon.

Its holding up after like a month or so too!! :D

Sprayed ONR onto the rim and the dust just rolled off!

Really amazing!

i would love to see more reviews on the dg products
What products would you liked reviewed?

Paint Sealant: Duragloss 105 over Duragloss 601. Applied one coat to my wife's Regal in November, was exposed to road salt through the winter, been through touchless car wash several times, and continues to show beading/sheeting without letting up. The car is a daily driver with a 40 minute commute one way to work, sits outside all day, then put in the garage after a 40 minute commute home.

I have not experienced the same level of durability from Menzerna Power Lock or other house brands.

Richard,

Do you find DG 111 to give a different look than DG 105? What about durability?

My mind is playing tricks on me right now and keeps telling me that DG 111 is a little more "glossy" and DG 105 is a little "warmer". And to be honest with you I haven't tested 111 against 105...

*Edit - The Regal is really glossy and the metallic is not muted. When the sun hits the paint it looks really wet and the metallic looks deep.

**Edit - I wonder how long DG 105 over 601 topped with Collinite 476 would last?

I agree with all of these. I will add G|Techniq L1 for leather and C4 for trim based on reviews only. I applied C4 to the Ford yesterday. it looks awesome and has fantastic durability threads,
Sealant for wheels & paint dG 105 over 601
Rubber seals DG 531

I should add that I dont concern myself with durability. I am an AutoGeek!

Tire Dressing - SONAX
Wheel Glaze - Swissvax Autobahn
Exterior Trim - Gtechniq C4
Interior Plastic Trim - DP interior protectant (the old version, have not tried the new yet)
Paint Sealant - Power lock
Paint Coating - Gtechniq C1 and Cquartz are lasting about the same length. I need to try Nanolex to see how it stands up.
Wax - Swissvax Mystery

Where'd you get your swissvax autobahn? I'd like to compare it to fk1000p on a 325i I have.

Here's a vid I took of UTTG on the alloys!(sry for the bad quality)

Really amazing stuff I must say! I'll try it on the rocker panels of my car too! :D

I don't remember when I put the Duragloss combo on my wheels, its been so long. The dirt and dust just washes right off. I do not get withdrawal symptoms from not having to deep clean my wheels

With all this praise for UTTG I'm surprised my thread asking if anybody has sealed their entire ride in this yet has not recieved a single response. I have found this stuff awesome on painted wheels and it seems tougher (thicker film) than UPGP and might deliver a deeper shine on body panels????

Looks like I'm just going to have to give it a try.

I agree and when I apply UTTG to tires I apply to rims too!
