The most over-rated products?

I think gold class is over rated, it's decent at best some of my other shampoos blow it away

The purple cg qd and clay lube ( one product ) isn't really over rated as I never hear about it but as a clay lube performed very poorly and I could not beat the streaking

Adams apc.. Not concentrated.. Just an apc.. Only good part about it is that it's green lol

We are on the same page with Adams stuff once I am finished with their products I am done. Way to expensive for the performance. I do love their towels and applicators.

California car duster. Just moves some of the dust and dirt around. MF is faster and easier.

Sonax wheel cleaner, wow what a bust, only thing good about this product is the color. which didn't even change for me.

I am under the impression you have some type of ceramic pads on your car which is why the product never reacted. I suppose it is also very possible to have recieved a bad batch. Sonax has always worked on my Cobra, but I found Iron X to be more concentrated and more effective. The down side was it removed the zinc plating from my rotors.

Actually a lot of Adams products should be on here.lol
Adam's actually makes some very good products. Don't confuse expensive with being overrated. The Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner is the best I've used, the Glass Cleaner works great, the Detail Spray is great, Americana Paste Wax is nice, and the Quick Sealant is so very easy to use. I have not tried a lot of Adam's products, but I wouldn't mind. I will say I wasn't overly impressed with their polishes, though.

Wolf's Trim Coat.
Probably the most disappointing trim product I've used. I've prepped the surface and it never seems to last. It's become easier to just touch the plastic with my PERL 1:1 applicator after hitting the tires after each wash or every other wash. I love PERL oh so much...

I think its looks are decent enough. might not last 6 months but over 3 or 4 easy depending on what part of the year its applied. Is priced good and a little goes a long way so even more cost effective. Very easy to apply and pretty easy to remove for me. Doesnt stain trim. I jst really like using it and like the company.

+1 :iagree:

I don't confuse the two. I use a lot of expensive products. It's not about price. I'm just not wowed by any of their stuff. A lot of it is on the same line as megs OTC stuff IMO. Americana is horrible btw. Nxt paste is just as good. I just think they are overrated for how bad they work.

Ive had the privalidge try just about everything out there in the detailing world. I believe I've tried almost everything from Adams. All except their Waterless wash and glass sealant. I'm just not impressed. It's not the worse stuff I ever tried just not what it's hyped to be. Only thing that is pretty good is their brilliant glaze.

What's your favorite carpet and upholstery cleaner?

I don't think I have any overrated product. I've been lucky enough to buy stuff that I really enjoyed using and loved the results.

P21S Wheel cleaner is the only product I wish was a bit stronger, but I will still buy it again as my only wheel cleaner. (Brembo's suck :( )

Gold class is a great shampoo! I use it for my wheels and fender wells. I demoted it from paint after using CG Honeydew Snow Foam:xyxthumbs:

What's your favorite carpet and upholstery cleaner?

Your going to laugh but I love megs all purpose. I tried so many and keep coming back to it. It works so well and extremely cheap which is a must have owning a business. Lol
I do like cg green clean and sonax u&c cleaner as well.

Nicely put, and I agree Mark. Don't mean to highjack the thread here boys, but everyone keeps bringing up the price of Adam's products. Besides the Meguiars Detailers line, which is a great product line for the price (also, a huge company), the prices of Adam's compares with every product line in the AG store. Pinnacle, Wolfgang, DP, they are all expensive. The pads are same price as comparable LC pads. I could go on and on. Plus with their 100% made in the USA product line, 15% military discount, daily specials that rock, 110% lifetime guarantee on everything they sell + unbeatable (right along with AG) customer service...I personally don't think they are overrated.:dblthumb2::dblthumb2:

Just the .02 of a guy who loves detailing, AG and Adam's both.Im the MAN

I have the Americana, Waterless Wash, MF Waterless Wash towel, and the Flex pads, and I'm pleased with the Americana, but not blown away. The Waterless wash is a very thin vicosity, the thinnest I've used, with Poorboy's S&W thickest, then Griot's Garage, then Eco Touch, then Adams. Adam's is almost as thin as Griots Garage Speed Shine. It seems to have the best cleaning ability, but I'm not convinced it offers great protection against marring. I got a gallon and a 16 ounce sprayer and a waterless wash towel for $40 on sale , so it was a good deal, but Poorboys and Griots are stlll better IMO.
I have the special towel that came with the Americana, which is very nice, as is the waterless wash towel. The wax applicators are nice as well.

$25 for 16 ounces of polish seems very expensive to me. $26.95 for 200 grams of clay seems expensive to me when Griot's Garage is 220 grams for $19.99. I use Griot's.

I've been very satisfied with Adam's Car Wash Shampoo and I
will use it again.

Nope, APC+ is a nice carpet cleaner as well. I LOVE how Adam's C&U does not foam AT ALL, and it cleans very well! I'm by no means and Adam's fanboy, I just think they make SOME very nice products, and some not so good, like many companies. :dblthumb2:

What didn't you like about Americana? I've only used it twice, but found it fairly easy to use, and thought it gave a very nice look.

Yes the GT500 is mine and it makes 540 at the wheels, still wanna race? ;)
Lol of course but I'd lose. Nothing too major done under the hood, if I stay with this it'll get the kenne bell treatment otherwise I'll pickup an 04 termi and that will eventually be completely modded out
Aw come on
do be a bully

I see he brought you for backup ;) lol

I thought this until I tried some better ones such as cg wash and gloss, even if you watch some of their videos you'll see how much he uses, I use a cap of cg for 5+ gallons and it foams better longer and seems of higher lubricity only thing Adams has on it is a nice smell, this cg wash seems odorless
