The most over-rated products?

Then again, if you're referring to anything, that could mean "any thing" which could mean a single product. So, he could still be referring to just the twins. Just saying. :)

At least one guy understands logic here. ;)

meguiars wash and wax anywhere.

I was out of ONR and on my way to a job a few weeks ago so I stopped into auto zone to see what I could find. I trust Megs products so I figured it would do at least a decent job. It did not. The first thing I noticed was the horrible smell. I don't know how to explain it. Kinda smelled like burning chemicals. Then I noticed the streaks and dirt that was left behind. No amount of wiping would leave it streak free. I thought maybe there was residue on my MF towel or maybe there was something on the paint. So I ended up using the customers hose :/ I have since tested it out on a few cars and still.... still sucks. I'm surprised actually lol It won't make me stop liking Meguiars, but I was def let down lol

Microfibers soaps LOL,oh the pad washer system...

I agree, I've been using All Free and Clear for years now and it's less than half the price of some of these MF only soaps out there. It does a fantatic job of cleaning them and keeping them soft as well.

I use the tide version, works fine for me!

I use anything,I wash on hot and dry on hot as well,I recently bought some CG Sasquach and after I washed, still feels like new.

I wash on hot, but I always dry on low. I've always heard horor stories about fibers getting burnt and turning hard if you dry on high too many times. I'm not saying it always happens, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Just my .02

Few to add:

Adam's glass cleaner
Meguiars UQD
Prima Wheel Armor

First off, I hope the Celtics get spanked by the 6ers in the next two games....

Now that that's out of the way, I agree that Adams Glass Cleaner is overrated. For the price, I just didn't see it doing anything that Megs Glass Cleaner doesn't do at a MUCH cheaper price.

Never really tried, or heard much about Wheel armor. Maybe that's a good thing...

Everyone needs something to hope for lol. You must have not watched last night's beat-down :)

I'm was naive enough buy a gallon of that glass cleaner a while ago...never got much use out of it.

Lately I've been using 1Z's glass concentrate with great results.

I have used a whole bottle now. It actually has done a good job for me when time was short or out of my favorite WW. Agree with the smell, but it got the job done for me. Pretty pricey too.

In response to the most under rated products, got me thinking, what are the most over rated products you've used / you were disappointed with and why?

Actually, right after starting that thread I was going to start another with the most over rated products, but then I saw you beat me to it. :)

I would have to say the most over rated thing I've used yet, (I haven't used much yet) is Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner. I hate the sprayer on it because it forces you to use a lot of product per wheel. Maybe I just need to give it a better chance.

Lol sorry about that, and as for sonax I completely agree, much better and cheaper products out there

I've been wanting to try Diablo gel too. Currently stocked up on Iron X, Wolfs Decon Gel, Brown Royal, and Megs Wheel Brightener though.

I would pass on it if I were you. I think CG makes some great products, but Diablo isn't one of them. Even at 2:1 or 1:1 it, IME, isn't able to clean as well as some other popular wheel cleaners. Sure it works on wheels that aren't trashed, but so does regual car wash soap. Just my .02

Good to know, thanks.

I have plenty of pretty good wheel cleaners but I just really enjoy trying new products. I haven't tried P21s yet so maybe I'll include that in my next order.

I dunno what smell you guys are smelling but I used it and it smells great, fruity type. Even my sister loves its. Bad batch maybe? Works great, no marring whatsoever for me.

Chemical Guys Jet Seal... What a load of HYPE!

I'll agree on this one based on durability. It simply does not last like other sealants. Does cure very fast if that's important but I'd rahter not have to do two or three coats in a day to get 4-5 months out of it.

It's all good.:xyxthumbs:
What's your favorite? I saw you used CG diablo, how did you like that.
It's good, but I won't be buying it again, I have their other wheel cleaner as well, will give that a try too, but it won't surpass mothers wheel and tire, honestly that stuff is incredible, only other wheel cleaner I want to try is brown royal.

Honestly, just pass, its a good product, but you aren't missing anything

Diablo is a good product, it does what it's supposed to, but nothing outstanding

I unfortunately enjoy that as well, lol
