The New FLEX PE14-2-150 Rotary Buffer

$379 my @$$!!!

No way in hell.... guess this means I'll be keeping my 3403 and Makita! Especially not worth that when Meguiar's is coming out with their MF buffing system for the DA that will supposedly make rotary work all but obsolete.

I think Flex has become the Bose of the buffer world. Sure, they're nice tools, but not THAT nice. Now if it were doing the buffing for me or fetching me a beer between section passes that'd be another story....

A good rotary costs money, my Festool Shinex was 450 euro's (more than 600 dollars ;) )

You know what, this was my thoughts too a few months ago when I first heard this. I had sticker shock too until I realized just how awesome this new Flex polisher is in design, feel and performance.

I remember the reaction that I got from Mike Phillips after he had the opportunity to shoot the video with Bob Eichelberg from Flex when I asked him his thoughts. He told me it was his new favorite polisher and that it was light, quiet, didn't bog down under pressure and was super easy to control. Most importantly, no matter what, it didn't overheat. This polisher stays cool!

Then at the SEMA Show a few weeks ago I lost count of how many people saw this machine in use and then eve gave it a try themselves, all to a positive reaction. We have so many products available today that I wish I had when I was a detailer full time. This new polisher is one of them.

:iagree:I fell in love with it! It was so tempting to throw Mike's polisher in one of our bags! Wonder who gets serial #'s 00003 & 00004?

Good Gosh that price is ridiculous for a rotary.

What's next, LC 1-pad system for $10 a pad?

Not much different than what I'm paying for HT pads now...

it looks nice BUT for the price know thanks its only 1lb lighter then a makita but 2 times the price. also I can get any part for my 5 makita's.THE up side to the flex is that it blows the air out up front as not to suck in as on the makita. that will help in keeping it cleaner in side the motor when using a pad washer as we do .so if the price comes down any time soon we will get one or to and give them a try and let you know how they work.but for now with the pricing going down these days on detailing its not coming soon. where will you get parts to fix them?

where will you get parts to fix them?

Flex actually has authorized service centers throughout Noth America and of course Powerhouse stocks all of the parts as well. We can even get parts for you if needed so you will never have to worry, we've got you covered.

Authorized Warranty Service Centers - Flex North America, Inc.

If you happen to be the same Master Detailer than I've seen on Youtube and based in Florida, I'd love to have you come by and get hands on with this polisher. I have a feeling you'd be quite impressed. Flex just got it right with this machine.

Since you already have a Makita and a 3403, I see no reason why you would need the new Flex. Of course if you are like me, I will get one. The Makita can handle the wool compounding and horizontal panels and the 3403 can handle the vertical and 4" pads. The new Flex fits right in the middle and would be an awesome tool for someone just starting out with a rotary.
Hey Ron,

I'm still thinking of buying the 3403(excelllent deals right now). I don't mind using smaller pads. For compounding with wool, I can use the edge 6" wool pads. I don't want 2 rotaries, and I'd rather not spend $380 on the new Flex. What do you think?

Never had the 3403 overheat with 6" pads, but if it does, just run it at max rpm with no load. I think it's a great rotary considering the price.
