The OFFICIAL Duragloss Enviroshild review thread, everyone!

I believe the long awaited 3rd coat applied in warm weather is going to be laid down Tuesday when I get back from my whirlwind tour of the midwest. My car has been sitting in the underground garage, so its going to be getting a rinseless wash, Speedy Prep towel wipe and then the DGNCC. I'll probably apply another coat of Collinite #476 to the glass too.

Now, I have applied AW to the car but don't expect a problem with applying DGNCC to it. I know the Speedy Prep towel will not remove an LSP, no matter how thin but I'll report my results back to the group when I'm done.

As far as "buyer beware" with all these new coatings, well, maybe call me nieve but I trust DG didn't rush their product to market and a lot of R&D went into it I'm sure, so I'm 100% confident!!

Well,

1. how is the beading/sheeting, the gloss?

2. what about the higher temps? does it make a significant difference?

I'm ready to apply 1 more coat at 80 degrees to my own car. I applied 1 coat in April at 52 F. Results were less then stellar vis-à-vis beading/sheeting. So I'm curious to hear your response. Thanks...

To answer #1 the beading is great, no issues there and as far as sheeting goes I can tell you this, when I do a rinseless wash w/ my Aqua sponge its so easy! The gloss is awesome but remember this, I prepped my car very well before I applied DGNCC too.

As far as question #2 goes I can tell you this, this product MUST BE APPLIED @ 70 DEGREES AND ABOVE! I too applied it when it was in 50's, got high spots but they buffed out the next day outside w/o a problem using QD. I have an underground parking spot at the apartment we live at and although there's lights its not like being in a garage with the door open, that's for sure!

I can't stress this enough to anyone applying DGNCC to their car, wait till its atleast 70 and go for it! On the high end of the temps, well I can't speak to that but I don't work on my car when its hot other than a rinseless wash and that's surely going to be done down in the garage or under a shade tree.

Any more questions ask away!

Amen on the above 70 degrees...for any coating no matter what the manufacturer's claims are. You will hate life if you don't.

I also find that cloudy conditions...not sunny conditions or special lighting...allows a better inspection environment to check for high spots.

Just a bit of a teaser/test to see if I can get a photo to u/l, (showing some recent work and "coating" after the fact). Here's a shot after coat #2 on a black cherry KIA.

I agree about the cloudy conditions for inspection and its also better for wiping those high spots down as well. Any high spot caused now have more to do with using too much product but its easily corrected with a couple wipes w/ a swipe from a mf towel with a little bit of QD, no problem.

I have applied AW twice since my 3rd coat with great results but today I applied "FrankenSpraySealant" to the car. This is DG AW, CG's Blitz and a little bit of D156 and I'm happy with the look!

I'd say you're protected better than the president at this point. I'm assuming the look the coating gave was not so hot...

The look of the coating is great, just wanted to put something over the top of it, that's all. I guess old habits are hard to break but hey, I've only got 3 coats of DGNCC, 2x's AW and 1 coat of this "Frankenstein" mix. Compare that to my previous car and I'm no where close to how I used to be, LOL!

i wish you had run your car over a scale before, and after you had applied all your layers to see how many pounds were added to it. :D

LOL!

That would've applied more to my previous car. In the 2.5 yrs of owning it I rubbed on the car 185 times, LOL! Its what happens when you work opposite shift of your better half and wanna stay busy I guess. I liked trying different products and it never took too long to do the car because it was small, just like my current car. In total I've rubbed on the Abarth 8x's since February 14th but all LSP's have been spray on types, nothing poured out of a bottle, applied and wiped off. I do miss doing that but I now have a black car that's been getting more rinseless washes and wipedowns with made up QD's though, so I'm staying busy.

Btw the slickness of the coating and AW is incredible, especially during pollen season. I saw on the weather report today that pollen was mild, thank God!

He just can't help himself. Why the hell else would you coat a coating with 2 layers of spray wax and then a mix of 2 different spray waxes with a sealant to spray on the car! :buffing:

You need an additional hobby buddy! :xyxthumbs:

There's no room for another hobby, well unless you consider going out to eat at different places from time to time a hobby, LOL!

Raining today and tomorrow so its going to be interesting to see how the clean-up goes on Friday, I don't expect any issues honestly.

***UPDATE***

It rained just about all day yesterday as well as on my home from work and when I got into the garage the beading was nutz! Its supposed to rain today and tomorrow, so no wash till Friday, which will be a touch-free from the local Mobil station, this way the underneath and all cracks and crevaces get cleaned out real good. I like to do a touch-free wash from time to time for this very reason.

i'm not surprised by the majority of results in this thread. Seems they are inline with Black label paint coating sheeting/beading as well. The prep should not be rocket science here, especially with a dedicated pre-coating polish.. My personal opinion is that the "ceramic nano-glass whatever" coatings are not the answer. Everyone who jumped on the Wolfs chemical wagon early on learned this quickly. I will say I gotta give wolfs credit... atleast they marketed as a sealant, knowing this is not the type of coating that customers were accustomed too.

Coatings are an alternative to wax and sealants. Will coatings ever replace either of them..?..no. We still know very little about them as evidenced by the numerous threads regarding the issues involved, and I suspect over the long haul, the over hyped marketing push that coatings are currently taking advantage of....will subside as better and better killer hybrid sealants like synergy start to appear. .

I would like to see some pics of the beading. I get crazy beading from DG rinseless and you say you use that every time you wash so it might be the rinseless beading so well.

I do use DG rinseless wash most of the time, although I did get another bottle of TW rinseless wash and switch to that "when I feel like it". I also have DG made up as a QD as well (1 oz in a 16 oz bottle).

Like I said earlier, the beading from driving in the rain wash crazy, infact the next day after getting to work, I inspected the car and you had to look REAL close to see the dirt, thus it keeps the car "looking" cleaner even though its technically dirty, if that makes any sense and FWIW my car is metallic black too!

I thought I would post an update to this thread. It's been about three months since I did my wife's G37.

This car lives in San Antonio, TX. It's outside 24/7, gets dusty, crapped on by birds and baked in the TX sun.

Before I get to the pics, I can tell you the car releases dirt extremely well. I try to wash it every week, but on average it's washed every other. My wife will go through a touch-less wash if I can't get to it. Bird poo comes off easily, and so does road grime.

I'm not quite as discriminating as some of you gentlemen, but I am quite pleased with the performance and looks of this product on her car.

Now for the pics (these are after washing the car...this is the rinse water):
