The oil DISASTER!!!!

It doesn't matter either way...the government will do what they want with the money. It's a third "government" party basically.
 
get ready everyone to start paying for this for years to come! reports are that BP doesnt even have 20 billion now the most is 7 billion so who do you think is going to account for the rest? this has to be the worst administration ever!

nope the "pay czar" is in control of the money kenneth something forget his last name. the supposed 100 million for displaced workers and others affected by this is controlled by a 3rd party
 
Well, Obama says he wants this mess cleaned up. I mean, he's got good intentions, right? Looks like it's about time for another Nobel Peace Prize! :laughing:

I trust our government more than I trust BP....the oil company is still trying to down play the severity of the whole situation. The government is no where near perfect but at least the government isn't worried about their profits and their shareholders.

I definitely agree that WE all will pay for this....just like the 100 million dollar settlements against big tobacco... they don't pay, anybody that buys their products pays!
 
so this president had mud slung at him by a 4 star general in afghanistan and had him flown back to the states to confront him in person 2 days after the article came out but took him over 50 days to meet with the chairman of bp ?? what in the world are his priorities? yea im from a military family an understand the nature of the comments and that they should not have been made public gen mcchrystal's stupidity and is more than likely going to be fired from commanding the war in afghan but this president has some serious thin skin. the sad thing is that the men and women over there look up to this general and try to keep up moral and they support him now he will probably be replaced.
 
Your president needs to start talking about mandatory jail time for exec's involved in environmental disasters...

I could understand BP's situation during the first few weeks, but seriously what are we upto now? week 8? BP aren't taking it seriously enough..

Very disappointing and also very depressing for all the wildlife in that affected areas!

I don't think they supported the general's total disrespect for THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT. The general should be totally reprimanded for what he did. The only way to deal with that is termination. Resignation is out of the question. Had this general said that about the former adminstrations he would probably be in prison on terrorist related charges. In this post towers falling world, everyone is being set up to be called a terrorist. This world is totally messed up.

1. the President doesn't work on rigs
2. If the former president wouldn't have got us in so much SH!T maybe he would have time to deal with the situation.

he maybe yachting but he isnt an engineer so what else you want him to do?im not defending him by no means! bp isnt doing anything! and if i remember correctly the land affected by this is the united states of america and the president should be very quick to act and on the ball! u talk about ceo yachting but you fail to mention obama spending more time on golf courses and attending concerts that are paid for by our tax money than he actually works! his own chief of staff emanuel works more than this guy! how can anyone defend this administration? yea i didnt vote for him and do not think he is a good president i think he is a salesman in a suit imo. how can a president turn away help 3 days after the spill occured? how can a president not send all the resources we have down here when it first happened? yea i know im bashing but the reality of the situation is that he is not the right guy for the job let alone all the other issues he fails to connect with america on.......
 
as soon as Obama sends resources or tries to clean up then they take responsibility, they can't send BP the bill afterwards because BP will just say - "we could have done that cheaper" and then Obama will be in for a world of pain and bad press...

I feel exactly what you are saying. President Obama has been blamed from everything from the OIL spilling out in the GULF to boils and sores on peoples backs. This man has been in office for less than 2years. When BUSH came in to office, we had a 2 TRILLION dollar surplus, they spent that in 8 years. Since BUSH and CHANEY needed more money they started a war so that CHANEY"S COMPANY can profit from the NO BID CONTRACTS. Can you all say HALIBURTON . It took 8 years for them to get us in to this mess and you expect it to be fixed in 2 years. Lets call a spade a spade, Blame it on the BLACK MAN. Presidents have been hob nobbing with Hollywood for years, but since we now have a Black President, it's not cool for any Black celebrities to be seen with him. There were safguards put in to place to keep this type of oil Catastrophy from happening, guess who removed them when they got in to office, let me help you out BUSH/CHANEY "OIL MEN".
One other thing that gets me. Everyone talks about al qaeda being in IRAQ, they were not there when Saddam ruled there, they came after we invaded them looking for WMD's that have never been found. al qaeda came there to fight us only after we invaded. Then I hear, Iraq attacked us on 9/11, get it straight guys, it was not IRAQ that attacked us, it was al qaeda, which were NOT in IRAQ before we invaded them.
