That blue lighting is AWESOME

I always liked the blue, but I rarely drive at night so can't comment on legibility after dark.

The green of the base model always looked a bit cheap.................................................

The white was a little plain..........................

I especially liked the "blue crayon" that outlined the gauges, which in a negative tone was how a journalist named it during the press launch back in 2008. Ford later removed it for the FG MK II and FGX.

Mustang tank size is 61-liters / 16-gallon.

In terms of back lighting, from BA through to the last FGX, Ford used green lighting for base (XT/Futura/XL/XLS), white for luxury (Fairmont/G-Series) and blue for sport (XR and FPV). So, you would be referencing the BA - BF MK II XR6, or FG XR6.

BA - BF

FG MK I -

On Mustang, you can choose any colour you like for the backlighting and ambient lighting. In theory, you could have green backlighting with pink ambient. No prizes for guessing what I'm running.

I'm pretty sure it was a BA when I think back. It was the darker blue of the two, and yes it does look cool, but is completely illegible at night, the lighter blue is fine. It's been proven that blue light is the hardest to focus on. I'm sure it's fine if you own the car and drive it every day, but driving it for the first time at night was a surprise. I always thought having a blue lit dash would be cool, this changed my mind.

Edit: Wow, that's a small tank Deyon, I know you'll get better economy when the engine gets some KMs on it. I know it takes 98 RON, do you have a preferred brand?

I don't get too hung up on fuel brands, as long as its Premium 98, I don't really care. I used to run a lot of Shell V-Power but have been using Ampol Amplify 98 lately.

The trio, circa November 2017.............................

The trio, circa October 2024........................

And today's choice of cluster, Sport......................

Yeah, I've been thinking about on doing PPF on the roof. I only know of one installer in this area that does PPF, so my options are limited.

The twin-pipe noise maker!

And comparison to my previous Mustang...........................

Do they make those rocker covers for the S650, I don't really see any there from the factory

Also, do you plan on adding a pair of perf, drop in air filters there

Those rocker cover trims no longer fit, been the case since they added direct injection to the Coyote (they have both port and direct injection).

Those are some clean black wheels & tires.
The grille definitely got attention too.

Those wheels really set it off. A spoiler would be the icing on the cake for me, but then again that isn't everyones cup of tea. Looks amazing regardless, the gloss from the coating is unreal!
I wanted a spoiler, at least initially. The rear styling of the S650 didn't grab me at the begining, the pointy design made it look a little unbalanced visually to the point where I felt it needed a spoiler.

For whatever reason, Ford Australia don't offer the spoiler as a single option, be that factory or dealer fitted. They do offer the Appearance Pack, which includes a body color GT spoiler and a stripe package. However, you can't order the Appearance Pack with the Black Pack, its one or the other. And to confuse things further, the Appearance Pack is not available when Magneride suspension and/or Recaro seats are selected. What seats have to do with stripes and spoiler is beyond me. In the end, I didn't want stripes, but I DID want Magneride. Long story short, a spoiler was not an option with how I wanted to spec the car. I also don't want someone drilling holes to fit a spoiler aftermarket.

Other than my own car, I had not seen a S650 in person until mine arrived at the dealer, there is no such thing as a demonstrator when it comes to Mustang's here, you either buy one or you don't. Now, the rear is now my favorite part of the styling.
