Wow, nice work. And to think I almost missed it, I noticed a glow coming in the garage window so I went out for a look. I took about 20 shots, the first few didn't have the light on, but as I moved closer I triggered the sensor light, and there it was. This is the original shot, unedited other than reducing its size so I could post it, you can see why I chose one with the light on.PSX_20250326_222737.jpg

A bit smoother on the paint transition

Yes, you--is there another member who goes to the touchless wash every day to try and get his MIL to light for his knock sensor that I am getting you confused with?
Oh yeah, I'm trying, LOL but in the meantime the car is ALWAYS clean

I tried to get them to do the TSB before it happens but I've gotta WAIT for it to happen...I tried

It's always the way, whatever you are trying to fix, the only time it works is when the repairman looks at it.
I thought with my cars rep, 2 knock sensors in 1.5 years AND 3 horns they'd have mercy on me...but no, plus the recalls, although the recalls were not a big deal

I did get a letter a couple weeks ago extending the warranty of my cars HPFP, 15 yrs/150K. If that goes bad I'd like the one from the Sonanta from a couple years previous to my car, it's got a 1mm larger internal barrel, the 2.5L Turbo one is another OEM upgrade guys have done, always something. The injectors are a known issue too but now instead of replacing the bad 1, all 4 are replaced, smart

I had that with the ex highway patrol car I owned back around 2000, the alternator would go bad intermittently, but never when it was at the dealers, 1 time the red light came on as I was leaving the place, but went out before I could turn around and go back. I replaced it myself eventually, if they had been able to diagnose it, the warranty would have covered it. To their credit, when I told them I replaced it, and the problem was fixed, they sent me a cheque to cover the cost. That's probably the reason we've bought 4 vehicles there over the last 30 years, they look after their customers.

So you're saying it spent most of its life in the Japanese rust belt? It's clear they don't use anywhere near the salt we do here in Asia, given all the rust problems with Asian cars. I thought Hyundai would get it after a while, but I knew someone with a 2003 that got recalled for structural rust issues, and then someone with a 2012 that got recalled for the same thing. At least with the 2012 the recall was more to prevent the issues, than repair them. Hopefully by 2022 they got it figured out.

It looked pretty clean underneath to me, someone looked after it
