Beautiful. I feel like the window of opportunity for me to own a Chevelle has passed. They're just simply too expensive for me these days. I did buy raffle tickets for a gold 1970 LS6 car. Didn't win :(

This was it:

Enter To Win This Dream Giveaway 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS454

Yeah been living beneath my means saving for a while. Covid hit and although i wasn’t too worried, it got me thinking.

You can’t enjoy life with your money in the bank.

Went through alot of different things i’d enjoy.... month long cruise or vacation somewhere exotic, upgrading my current car to a C8, a nice watch.... combo’s of all...... in the end I couldn’t pull the trigger on any of them.

Thought about something that I’ve always wanted and the Chevelle popped in my head. Always wanted a 70-72.

Couldn’t find any local on classic car sites and wasn’t going to buy on eBay as we all know pictures can hide alot of flaws.

Ended up checking Craigslist and found a guy local selling this 71. Only one available in WA, OR, or ID. Figure it must be.

Once i saw this and drove it...

Negotiated a price we were both unhappy with and now own something i’ve wanted since I was 12....

Oh absolutely, my apologies if it came off as I didn’t think you worked hard or saved for it. I am very glad that you got it and I hope you keep it forever. What a beautiful engine bay. I just think I waited too long to look at muscle cars is all.

Funny thing, back in 1997 I went with my dad to look at and test drive a 72 chevelle with a 396 in it. My dad was looking for a hot rod and we thought that was the one. I think the dealer wanted $10,995 and my dad couldn’t come to an agreement on price, whatever that was. Of course none of us would think twice about that now, it would be in the garage ASAP. He ended up with a 1981 Camaro with a nicely built 350/th400 about 2 months later. Quick car (low 12s), wish he kept it.
