The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

I did not get a chance to view the gloss after it had "cured" as it was detailed, returned to storage and covered.

More pics? You ask, you shall receive! :xyxthumbs:

Delivery day, way back in June 2008. Brand new, factory ordered to my spec.

At my cousins wedding, the white Holden was letting the side down. The 2010 red Falcon GT I also got to drive and has the same engine as my red Falcon. :D

On a road trip to Mt.Panorama Bathurst. The Bathurst track is a public road for most of the year so can be driven on, with a 60 kph / 40 mph speed limit which I tried to keep to.

After the steep climb, the mountain then plunges just as steep.

Road tripping through the Victoria high country.

Posing with a long lost brother, the original Falcon from the 60's.

Some more that I like.

And posing with its siblings -

How does Armor All have enough money to sponsor that sign at such a historic track, nobody uses their stuff, LOL

That "old school, new school" pic of the 2 Falcons was really cool! The old one looks like the remains of something off the Mad Max set 42 yrs ago!

DFB...that last shot in the driveway, your house looks awesome, very modern, congrats

Wheres pic of the fish and chips?

I haven't been able to go there for a couple of months, so there was no taking pictures before eating, but here's the pic I posted a few months ago. Looked the same. Crumbed Fish with a serving of chips, and a bottle of Creaming Soda to wash it down. View attachment 74500

Those pics were circa 2009/2010, the sign has sported various brands over the years. That said, Armor All still heavily sponsor the local Touring Car category, each pole position garners the driver with a $1000 cheque. Armor All is still very entrenched in the minds of Aussies who don't know any better.

Speaking of Bathurst, this lap is pretty special in the eyes of Ford guys and girls. If you don't get goosebumps by the sound of that Falcon conquering the mountain, or the talent of it's amazing driver, I owe you beer!

And as for the old vs new, I also took this pic on that day.

The old one is/was a XM Falcon panel van. Ford produced a variety of body styles for most of the Falcon's life including sedans, vans, utes, coupes and wagons. The panel vans are very rare these days as they were generally worked to death.

Much is spoken about cars being built on modular platforms these days, Ford was doing this through the 60's, 70's and 80's. I love this graphic of the original generation Falcon showing the commonalty of body panels between each variant. Very clever.

Anyway, thus concludes today's Aussie motoring history lesson.

2015 Nissan Rogue purchased in 2014. A few weeks ago I deconned, clay towelled, Megs M205, Sonax Polymer Netshield. About an hour ago I applied a coating of Extreme Solutions Topper. The gloss should intensify by tomorrow. Had to put in low res images which don't really show the mirror finish.

Wasn't light enough for a entire body shot lol

Been hanging tree stands the past week so not looking very good. Raining pretty hard this morning, so should knock a lot of the gravel dust off and can maybe get a wash in after work tomorrow? The joys of owning a black truck during hunting season.

No pic? For verification purposes lol

It's awesome when you off-road it Dave because you get cred from the dirt community and then clean it all up and cred from us

I bet he gets teased when it’s clean. I’ve had the peanut gallery at a gas station etc mention my “pavement only” Jeep since it was freshly detailed. Bring up Drummond island and they don’t know what I’m talking about. 4-low has been engaged, swaybar disconnected, and lockers locked. :D

And I love his FJ cruiser too.

See that's how you do it, mention a place where off-roading is popular (I'm assuming it's one of those places) and see what they say because then and only then do YOU know if THEY are real off-roaders...put that one in your back pocket and continue about your day

I only get teased if the tyres are black and shiny, since I usually leave them in their natural state they leave me alone. It also helps that it sounds different, the FJs only come with one big muffler in the middle, that's been replaced with a much smaller sports muffler. From the inside it sounds a bit 'rorty', like an old English sports car.

Discovered how good the off road traction control is as well, came down a steepish trail in low range, lifted a rear wheel at the bottom, and seemed to be stuck, all engine noise and no go, thought I'd broken something for a minute, then I realized all the traction aids are turned off in low range, and I hadn't locked the rear diff. Tried it again a couple of times, with the diff locked, no problem, in 4Hi, no problem, A-trac setting works like a diff lock.
