The Red Rocket is dead ... Long Live Vader Jr.

Here are a set if intake valves and runners after 15k without a catch can:

A direct injection engine DOES NOT have any fuel flowing over the intake valves to wash off the crud from the PCV system, so it just accumulates. GM has a "special procedure" for cleaning these DI engines and recommends it every 15k. In fact they have started putting catch cans on the 2016 DI cars from the factory, so I guess even 'The General' is admitting what other car companies that have been using direct injection for years already knows ... intakes get gunked up. :xyxthumbs:

Sounds like a plan! :props:

Had an APC intake on my Subaru. It ran nice on the hwy, and I did see a slight increase in mileage. However, my egt spiked... It was running lean. No wonder I got a "better" mpg.

Tuning is fun, but it's a slippery slope. Before you know it, large injectors & E85 and all the supporting mods...

So is modding, I'm starting real simple with some good splash guards to keep the sides of my baby from getting all chipped up, but man, $100 - $150 for mud flaps, wow!

Cmdr. Riker: Enterprise, Riker here. Lock onto my signal and send down a catch can.
Enterprise: But Commander... The away team...
Cmdr. Riker: DO IT!

Don,

If you would dig deep enough into "forum information"
about catch cans, you'll find that all roads generally
lead back to a performance tuner, an aftermarket part
supplier, or a fabricator who has a vested interest in
selling catch cans.
(According to the pictures you posted:
it appears your forum-information is probably
being provided by Apex and Elite)

But if falling for the hype makes you feel better...

What the hellza matter with a little coke?

Ummm your going to get some Weather Techs, right? If the tires are iffy Continental has brought back the DWS and they're called the DWS06. I can't recommend them enough...wait, GET EM

Personally, I recommend Husky Liners over WeatherTechs.... My company sells both and we have a lot of warranty issues with the WeatherTechs over "curling" issues. I have Husky Liners in both my winter vehicles and they work great.
Just my 2 cents.

Hmmmm....

I have 3 buddy's who swear by the Husky liners due to price. That said, I've had them (Weather Techs) in my past 3 rides without an issue of any kind.

How's WT when taking care of warranty claims Monica?

The price is another selling point, yes.

I'm not sure, but I can find out :dblthumb2:

Yeah, just curious, that's all.

I am looking at the Huskys. I forgot all about Weather Techs. The way the Camaro is shaped, I could get away with just the front set, but they only sell them in 4s ... I don't suppose you get an employee discount?

Personally I think they are the same quality, but the Husky Liners are a lot less money. I'm not sure what the warranty is on the WTs... The Huskys are lifetime.

Lol sorry, I only get a small discount for myself. And I'm pretty sure they haven't seen me rolling in a Camaro

Would you LIKE to be seen rollin' in a Camaro?

Hey Don I hope you don't mind the route this thread has taken. I think it's very funny that I made a comment about a v6 is not being muscular and now were talking about formats laugh out loud!

I have a really warped sense of humor and this doesn't bother me a bit. Not muscular? My 5.0 Camaros only had ~175hp, this 3.6 V6 has 323 hp ... and were talking about mudflaps, not floor mats (or formats either) Im the MAN :xyxthumbs:

BTW Detail Kitty, I just checked and Weathertech doesn't make splash guards for the '13 Camaro :(

I have Husky on the Tacoma. Takes a beating and keeps on ticking.

Lloyd is also quite good. I really like the honeycomb set on my STi. Quite an attractive design, and do well with spilled liquid, mud, and rain. Seven years and going strong, with little visible wear right under the throttle as expected. The only complain I have is when they send my set, I got 2 right rear mats instead of a right & left. Nothing a quick trimming with scissors wouldn't fix. Still looks and smells new after all these years.

Oh yeah? Well my '91 CRX Si (love that little car) was a monster. 108hp at the crank. Try taming that beast.
