Switched over to Griot’s about 2 years ago from Meguiars.

I remember when 105 and 205 came out they were named the twins. Well folks I can tell you the Griot’s products fast correction cream and perfecting cream are the current twins! Even with the new offerings from the big M company, I have no inclination to switch. I got tired of the dust, the water polishing mess and the learning curve. With Griot’s you have none of that, they just work!

So I highly recommend you give the Boss creams a try. With upward of 400 combinations with creams and pads, you don’t need a cabinet full of different products for different paint.

The following pictures are from today’s project, a Volkswagen Phaeton.

In the last picture with the scangrip looks like micro marring. Not a clear reflection of the ring around the light

Agreed on the GG Creams.

I'm just a hobbyist, and I'm sure pro's would have other opinions, but for me it is Griot's all the way. Quick results, ease of use, no dust, easy removal.

Those are my 4 needs and Griot's nailed all 4.

I can assure you there is no marring. Just not good with the phone!LOL

The other twins that may beat Griot, are the HD twins.

What pad did you use, the Griot's 6" orange or something different?

BTW, NICE turnaround, WOW was that paint hammered, eeeeeeek!

theshineshopaut, what polisher and pads did you use with FCC and PC on this particular detail?

Thank you! The Griot’s 21 with a 5 inch plate, cutting done with a microfiber and polishing done with a yellow perfecting pad. Refining tomorrow with Modesta Primer.

I can assure you there is no marring.

Going by this answer... Does this mean
that you are theshineshopaut; or, at
least somehow: part and parcel thereof?

TIA

No dust you say? ;)

I think the Griots boss compounds/polishes are really really good. That being said I find myself using mix and match systems thru the years. But that is only thru experience. Honestly I haven’t touched them in a while as I get in my “moods” ... The company has made huge leaps towards being a serious contender for sure. Always quality products anymore!!

Now getting to the term “twins” .... it was always 105/205 and back in the day those products were certainly revolutionary. 110/210 have certainly hit the market with some great results IME. Nice thing now is the market is very competitive and we(detailers) have many more options. In the end it makes our jobs easier!

I am following Apex details' serie on cutting compound on youtube. I really like his testing method. So far Sonax Cut Max is number one and Meguiars M110 is number 2.

Sonax is pretty expensive at 179 US$ for a gallon. I did not look into pricing for M110 but I expect it to be lower since D300 is at 100$ per gallon and so is M105 (if I remember correctly).

Have not tried the Griot's Garage products but I am sure they are good.
