Think you've had a bad day ??

I am sorry for your loss and so thankful you and your family are safe.

Losing a pet is hard and they are unreplaceable.

Sorry for your loss, especially a member of your family. In the meantime, can I help you with any maintenance items for your cars? I have some ONRWW, a MF mitt, and CarPro HydroFoam soap id be happy to send over.

Thank you so much....your generosity is very uplifting...I'm ok for now...I won't be doing any detailing where I am since there is really no space...but, once I'm back in my garage, it's going to be fun...it just won't be this summer...again, thanks! :)

I am sorry for your loss. Dogs are a member of the family.

No problem. Hope all is well with your family. Keep us updated.

On February 23rd, we lost our house to a fire. No one was injured thank God but our dog did perish in the fire. Along with all of our belongings, my entire detailing arsenal was also destroyed and I will now be starting to build it again from scratch.

So sorry to hear of this tragic event. Did you have insurance?

For about 15 years I've been detailing cars, not professionally but for friends and family.

Sometimes I think that's the best way... :)

I go back to when Mike Phillips was with Meguiars.

Good times and and I made a lot of friends while with Meguiar's.

So if you think you're having a bad day, look at the picture I posted......

Here's a great song I use to put everything into perspective,

The taxman came knockin' on my door,
I said "I already gave", he said he wanted some more
Then my house burned down on a hot summer day,
When I saw the smoke clear, didn't know what to say,
But come what may, I guess I'll be ok,
I can't complain

Got me a broke leg, actin' like a fool,
Jumped off my balcony and missed the pool
Now my doctor's tellin' me that I'm eatin' too much fat
Says "high cholesterol just ain't where it's at"
They ask me any day, tell you what I say
I can't complain

My car's a lemom now, it's just broken down,
For the hundreth time, I can't get across town
I never got invited to the Grammy show,
If my luck ever changes, I really don't know
Ask me any day, tell you what I say,
I can't complain

It's how you look at it, your attitude
You can't get through life without some gratitude
You can always make a list of what's going wrong,
But your list of blessings will be twice as long

I can't complain

Mike, thanks for that...the song lyrics are appropriate for sure...I look forward to participating in the forum in a much more uplifting way in the future....once we get through this "process", things will start looking up...and yes, we have insurance but the numbers are not in yet...until then, we just have to wait...updates as they become available...thanks for the warm welcome.

Quick update: It's been 99 days since February 23rd. Seems like a long time. However, the "process" is slow and sometimes painful. We are at the "demo" stage...first step of that stage is to take all of the belongings which cannot be salvaged (which was 99% of them) and put them in dumpsters. Watching the first hour of that to make sure they didn't throw something out that we might have missed, was extremely difficult. View attachment 48783

Now that all the contents are gone, the house is gutted to the studs. Everything comes out...and I mean everything...here's one room as it was getting gutted:

Once the gutting process is completed, sometime next week, then the structural repairs to the main beam etc can begin...we're getting there!...one day at a time...

More updates as they happen!
