Those who have Meguiars Wheel Brightener

10:1 for heavy dirt and brake dust.

4:1 for extreme brake dust on face and inner barrel of wheel.

Same here. You can probably even go 15:1 or 20:1 for moderate/average dirt and brake dust.

WB is no joke! It simply can't be beat though when it comes to extremely nasty jobs.

Is is safe for all wheel types?

Sure is.

I used it at about 15:1 one time just for giggles and it still tackled nasty brake dust.

I only use it at 4:1 when I feel that a 10:1 ratio simply will not clean it as effectively as a 4:1.

Strong stuff for sure.

NO! Definitely not. And if you are not sure, don't experiment on them or you could really mess up your wheels.

Don't use WB on any uncoated metal. So uncoated polished lips, anodized wheels, machined or polished wheels (uncoated) are a no-go. Also be careful with plastic chrome-clad wheel covers. Depending on the chroming process they could get etched as well.

If your wheel is painted or powercoated THROUGHOUT, then WB is OK to use. So most OEM wheels are coated and can take WB fine. We use it at 4:1 since we have safer cleaners for less demanding jobs or delicate wheels, so I can't say how effective it is at higher dilution, but I would bet anything it still kicks ass!

My buddy wants me to detail his Porsche. I am not sure about this rims and want to use something very safe.

Any recommendations?

:iagree:Except if your cc wheels have curb rash or nicks in the clear coat, you shouldn't use it as the acid will get under the cc.

Strongest I've ever been brave enough to try is 6:1. Gave my father-in-law's Tahoe a full detail for his birthday. Poor truck gets ran through the tunnel o' swirl once in a blue moon. WB @ 6:1 chewed right through months of buildup on his factory wheels. I'm afraid any stronger than that may actually dissolve my concrete.

Considering Meguairs recommends a 4:1 dilution ratio, you shouldn't be toooo freightened! :p
