A while back, Meguiar's D156 was suggested for me to use while drying the paint and as a quick touch up.

I've used it a few times now and it actually makes the paint feel nice and soft, like it was freshly waxed. I was previously using CG Hybrid V7, which seemed to not care too much for the Menzerna Power Lock that's on my paint. The two seemed to clash, if you will, and the paint didn't bead and bugs stuck on even worse. Since I've been using the D156, drying is simpler, but the paint feels even smoother after the application of D156. Now every time I wash my car, the water just dances off the paint, beads and rolls effortlessly. I'm happy. :)

On another note, I can't wait to try Iron X on the paint. I've been seeing a few random raildust spots on the light silver paint, but I have a feeling I'll be seeing some crazy reactions with the Iron X since the paint on my car has never undergone that treatment before. I mapped out 12 steps I'll be performing during my Sunday detail, anywhere from 6 to 8 hours worth of work.

Eh, bored at work. Figured I'd share, lol.

I use Meg's UQW which I believe is basically a repackage of D156 for the consumer line and I do like it quite a bit.

Used D156 yesterday on top of DG 501, OMG paint felt clean, smooth and silky. Customer touched the paint and was amazed.

Well I can`t seem to get other things right the one thing I did was using the USW and now the D156 which is the same. I buy it by the giant economy size now, it`s the only thing that sticks, in my detail cabinet that is.:xyxthumbs:

Good to see others happy with it. :)

Bugs effortlessly come off thanks to the D156. A fresh coat or 2 of MPL does the same thing, but it obviously degrades over time, loses some slickness, but the D156 after every wash provides that super slick feel and to me, that means pure protection.

Super excited about my Iron X detail. :D

Is this the new AIO now? I just barely jump on the DG501/105 ban wagon :/ am I a little slow or things are moving too fast?

Try D156 on top of DG 501 or 105 if you want the best of both worlds.

I too like D156 a lot. Gone through many gallons of this stuff cause I use it as drying aid and as a final wipe on glass.

It doesn't streak and is not finicky about weather conditions. You can go to town and spray D156 on all hard exterior surfaces.

Does the D156 have glaze properties like its consumer counterpart UQW?

I personally noticed the paint was very glossy after I washed my car, dried the paint with the D156 and the applied D156 again once the paint was all dry. It seemed to highten the gloss a bit. The true gloss is from the paint itself being as clean and defect-free as possible, though. It bugs me when people say wax makes paint shiny. It enhances gloss and shine, sure, but it won't bring paint back from the dead.

I thought D156 wasn't a wax, but instead a synthetic spray sealant??

Although I have a bottle of UQW I'm not expecting different results but I just got my first bottle of D156 in from trade and can't wait to try it out!

Yes, it's a spray sealant and a nice one. D156 and Mothers Reflections smell very similar, lol. And Iron X and Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner smell the same, too.

I bought some 2 weeks ago and have used it about half dozen times so far and I'm pleased with it :) I like how slick it makes the paint after application.

I had to run a clay bar on a clients car and then used D156 topped with DP max wax and it came out great and looked like glass. I'll be ordering more when it gets low.

I've been playing around with both D156 and DG951 as drying aides and stand alone spray waxes. (As well as 'wax' can be used in the statement, considering both are neither.) ;)

Stand alone, they both work excellently. Layered you can see smearing, although the longer it cures the better it gets. I've even polycharged both, and with more than excellent results! (Although the smearing when laying is magnified fairly badly when doing so, but does go away.)

As a *pure* drying aid, when the car is actually *wet* they both work really well also. Although 951 may have a bit more 'slickness' when used in this manner.

It's when the car isn't COMPLETELY wet that I found D156 to make a total mess!
Washed my G Wednesday afternoon late, pulled out the blower and hit most of the water, then hit it with D156 just on the roof, windshield, windows and hood. Before I could get half of them done, (basically only got the roof done) it turned into a messed up nasty mess. The paint was mottled, streaked, had spots, you name it. Spraying more on didn't really help. Tried some M135 spray detailer even, with no luck. Ended up re-foaming the car (with it on setting 2 for a really light foam) and lightly going over it with the mitt to clean up the gunk. :bat:

Next time I dried it from half way wet (which I normally CAN'T STAND to do) with DG951 and all my problems went away. :D

I too have both D156 and DG951. I like D156 on lighter cars and DG951 on darker cars. I usually dry with leaf blower then only spray one panel at a time with either, spread with one MF and buff with another.

Overuse of either product causes build up and haze. I find D156 a little more easier to use on certain surfaces.

Both last about a month. I really like both and keep both on hand.
