I've actually been thinking about tinting my windows for 1 and 1/2 to 2 years now, and I finally went ahead and did it. I started a thread on Meguiar's Online in August 2009 (Should I tint my windows? - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online), and the response was pretty much in agreement that I should. Been putting it off, but I finally had it done on Friday. I like it - it just seems to add something. Also went ahead and did a wash and wax today:

Wash with CG Citrus Wash, 2BM, microfiber chenille mitt
Clay with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay and DP Clay Lube
Wash again
Glaze with Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
Wax with Meguiar's Ultimate Wax
Diamondite Poli-Shield on exterior glass
DP tire gel on tires
CG Black on Black in front wells, cheap tire shine in rear wells

Let me know what you think

Thanks for looking!

IMO tinting windows is a MUST! I tint the windows on everything I get.

Nice job on the Olds'!!

Shane,

The tint gives your car a whole new dimension and I honestly think that it looks fantastic, I like it! :dblthumb2:

You take very good care of that car and it shows it!! :props:

Looks Fresh! Did you tint them yourself or went out to get it done by a professional? I was thinking about tinting my car but its illegal to tint the front windows.

Should've done this 2 years ago. Looks very sleek :props:

Never had a car to date that wasnt tinted ... nice work Shane !

I had a professional do it. He's actually mobile, but he does really good work, and he stands behind his work for as long as you own the car, so that was another plus for me. Took him about five hours to do. Cost me $191 something with tax; it was definitely worth it though, IMO. I really don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

don't know how it gets in the summer where some of you are, but in southern california it's pretty brutal, AC and tinted windows are an absolute must. looks good shane. i was going to go with llumar, but decided to get the formula one and in the eight years i've had it, it's treated me well...

I hate driving a car without tint... Had an appt with the tinter within a few days of buying the Mustang, went with Solar Guard 22%, the small window openings and the black interior make the tint look darker than it really is.

Car looks great! My truck was less than a week old when i got it tinted, the sun is just brutal here.:xyxthumbs:

Never had it done on the STi. Was always looking for something different for it and never found it. Then I totaled it. See what happens when you don't tint.?lol But I did usually keep a cover on it in the summer, which helped more than tint when it was parked for hours.
Cutlas looks great! Now it looks like the "Undercover Cutlas". Why two different shines for the wheel wells? Because one has plastic and the other is just black metal? hmmm

what % did you go with?

I wanna say 35% but I'm not sure.

Two different types of materials, plus, Black on Black is quite expensive.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys use to maintain the inside of tinted windows? Do you use something like Plexus or DP Plex-All, or just an ammonia-free glass cleaner that is safe for tinted windows (e.g., Meguiar's Detailer glass cleaner, DP Krystal Vision, Sprayway glass cleaner, Surf City Garage Clearly Better, etc.)?
